Think Young had a great game (bet he must be on Viagra last few games). Pog will be a big loss for us against City. Anyone tell me why their last man was only a Yellow?

Because he had a third of the pitch to cover and fast as **** Bellerin 3 paces behind him, I think it fair to say Bellern would have at least got a challenge in.

Ah right so as long as you got a fast player on the pitch there is no last man. Sorted we got a few fast players Lucky being one if he gets the chance to get into his stride.

I think he has to be within a realistic chance of getting to the ball, sorry if I confused you there <cheers>

A classic JM win if I ever saw one. Get two early goals and then defend solidly playing the counter. We have the players to do that: fast front players with solid defenders. We still have Bailly and Jones to come back. Pogba missing 3 matches is a huge setback. I just don't know what he was thinking. We should have had a reasonable chance against City at OT but his petulance could cost us. I hope not but he'll be a huge miss.

We should still go for the win however. A draw is no use so might as well be adventurous and take a gamble.

I was really shocked and worried at our inability to clear the ball when it came into the area, we made life very difficult for ourselves and owe de Gea a bonus for his performance.

    THOUGHTS ON POGBA RED CARD
“I don’t know. I’ll leave that one for you [the media]. I’ll leave for you the Lukaku situation with [Laurent] Koscielny and I’ll leave for you the Arsenal players on the grass but I’ll probably be the same because the grass is absolutely beautiful. I think there is a desire to go for the grass!”
    INJURY DOUBT
    MATIC RECOVERS TO PLAY
“He did great work that he did in the last couple of days. Fantastic dedication from the members of the medical staff that were working with him and we managed to go from a ‘maybe’ to a ‘yes’. He was a doubt, he managed to play 90 minutes but I think the best words must go to Arsenal’s medical department because [Alexandre] Lacazette went from a ‘no’ to a ’90 minutes’ and that’s great.”

    I ****ing love Jose <laugh>

I have no idea what game you were watching because that was an amazing game. The game had everything!!

Yes, De Gea was amazing, but to suggest that United won because of De Gea alone would be foolish and is disrespectful to the team. After the fast start, Arsenal needed to throw everything at us and we were happy to sit back, defend as a unit, break fast as one, and let them continue to try. The fact that we got the third goal in the manner that we did suggests we could have readapted the play to keep Arsenal in check.

This win was by design rather and not "luck" as most fools are suggesting. The first goal - United still had all the work to be done to score that goal even with the turnover. There were FOUR players closing in on Pogba which freed up Valencia, who needed real power to go through Cech's legs.

The second goal - it was all about pressure play from Lingard that forced the mistake. It wasn't some stupid mis-kick. From that mistake, the skill, pace and the incisiveness of the passes from Lukaku, Martial's first touch and quick flick, then the finish was as good as it gets with effective and brilliant attack.

The third goal was more of Pogba simply bullying a weak Arsenal player with skill, strength and guile. Strides into the box and places a simple pass across goal. WORLD CLASS!!!

This was a perfect performance of resiliency, efficiency and absolute breath taking attack. It showed a team that is highly adaptive in defense and equally deadly in transition. If you still haven't watched it, you should order the DVD. :D

    Listen to these clowns...

    1. There is no doubt that United are now a better team than last season.

    2. The city match at home will tell us whether we will challenge for the title in May. We simply have to go for a win even without Pogba.A win and we would expect to win all our games at home.

    3. Lingard should start ahead of Mata or Mikhi, and Martial ahead of Rashford.

    4. Boring JM has now United scoring an average of more than 3 goals per match.

    5. Defensively we are one of the best. JM would be expected to use that to United s advantage.

    6. Pogba will now have to be used in the next three weeks for all our non league matches.

The attack has to take credit as all three goals were very well taken but Arsenal’s suicidal play and De Gea’s performance were equally important. Still a deserved win IMO because no team that defends like Arsenal did deserves anything.

Big slice of luck with the Welbeck non-penalty too.

On point 5, I’m just asking as someone who doesn’t see you much apart from highlights but after watching last night, are you one of the best in defence really? Best goalkeeper I give you.

The defence is a unit consisting of the GK and the outfield defenders. Individually sure DeGea is one of the best in the league possibly in the world. I can't say that of the back four or five but as a unit they have conceded the fewest goals despite the pressure the JM tactics impose on them and that's the only reasonable measure you can use.

I watched the whole match. The defence came under massive pressure. That would to be expected because United were up by 2-0 goals after 11-12 minutes. It would have been different if it had been 0-0 for most of the match. At 2-0 down Arsenal just had to put everything into their attacking, At one point they had like 4 strikers on the pitch, and somehow there was a feeling that United would hold on.

For the neutral maybe. As a United supporter I didn't enjoy watching Arsenal dominate possession, chance creation and territorial advantage whilst we fought a rearguard action with the occasional counter attack. I was brought up in the days when United were the most dominant attacking force in the land. I dread to think how City are going to dominate the game at OT.

I can't agree our defence is the best in the league at all.

Best goalkeeper for absolute cert, comfortably the best in the world, and Valencia and Young are the match of any wing/full backs in the league but the three centre halves are bodies on the line defenders rather than skilled and cultured. At times it was calamitous.

I'd have Bailly and Jones over any of those three as a preference.

They did well though, no question, but a great defence they ain't.
