I was thinking the other day about the cup competitions and the stuff people come out with when they are out of them. We bolloxed the League Cup at the first attempt. We managed to once again fall out of the Checkatrade at the group stage (not sorry about that one). We got dumped out of the FA Cup in round 2 before anyone important even joined it.

Normally we would be say oh well never mind we can concentrate on the league now. One problem is we bolloxed that almost at the start and it hasn't gotten any better since either. At this rate we will run out of things to concentrate on before Christmas.

It's alright for you BC. At this time of year you can get out into the woods and chase a Moose or two or play hide and seek with the Grizzlies. The only other thing I've got is chasing the bleddy next doors cat out of the garden or cleaning up what it leaves me when I haven't see him sneak in. This is England so I'm not allowed to shoot it.

You don't get many cats in your garden if you've got a pet grizzly wandering around....or shrubs, or flowers, or trees, or anything else including dustbins.

I've got 2 trees, around a dozen rose bushes (large) and at least 10 different shrub/bushes type plants. There is also a large statue of me in a pair of minature speedos. It was going to be a posing pouch but I thought that might be too much for the neighbours. Don't want to get them too excited. Despite all of that the little bugger still comes in.

Well that Statue would scare off any passing grizzly....but you don't get to many of them in deepest Devon.....

Why do I go on and on about that bleddy checkatrade trophy farce and allowing in the prem U21 teams? Prime example here. Leicester City played Scunthorpe. Their team included 6 over-age players which included 3 internationals. The transfer worth of their team a cool £45m. Yes that's £45m which is more than the entire league one squads combined. It's worse than a fecking joke and in my book that's Leicester City being totally disrespectful to leagues one and two and the supposed spirit of the competition.

That isn't the point plym. The fact they fielded that sort of team at all is the point and is the very reason why a lot of people object and stay away. The combined total of the matches averaged out at 1250 spectators per game. But, come final day they will put a spin on it and say the crowds overall were good or up on last time or some other such nonsense. League one and two supporters do not like this format and are speaking with their feet. Will the FA listen? Probably not as they don't care about supporters, only how much cash they can scrape in. The English FA are as bad as FIFA.

Yea....winter can be tough BC....I've been under the kitchen sink and turn off the garden tap....just in case it freezes.... it's just levels of comparison isn't it..... one inch of snow here and the country nearly comes to an halt....and most drivers don't know how to drive in snow.....snow chains on tyres just doesn't need to happen here. Scandinavians just power off down the road without a second thought....same in BC I expect.....in deepest Devon, only 200 odd miles from here snow is generally only seen on Christmas cards....unless you live on Dartmoor or Exmoor....sensible will be in semi- nap mode already....he's probably done all his predictions in advance and Mrs sensible will post them online for him.

Chelsea beat MK Dons 4-0 in the Checkatrade last night.....mention of Michy Batshuayi playing for them....only 24hrs after playing against Aletico Madrid in the European Cup....WHY does that happen...total farce and taking the mick out of such a minor tournament....it's not as if Chelsea couldn't rustle up fifty U18 players.....remember they've got dozens of players already playing around the leagues.....Premier Clubs are not treating this competition with any respect at all.

I want you to know that I am seldom out of a semi nap mode plym and that's all the year around. Also, it only takes 2 flakes of snow in Plymouth to grind it to a halt. One inch of the white stuff and that's it for at least a fortnight. Cat is in the post BC but don't tell anyone...............

I've just been watching Ronnie O'Sullivan get past very difficult opposition on my computer. He won 6 - 5 to go through to the next round but boy was it hard going. I'm not normally into snooker but it was hard not to watch this game to it's conclusion. I think enthralling is the word I was looking for.

The Christmas season is officially starting today for the Plym family....I've just been up the polar region (my Loft) and brought the Christmas boxes and Tree down.....I shall soon find out how well or how badly I put things away last January....must have it all done before Thursday....that's when I pick granddaughter up from school....she was rather scathing last Thursday when she found no sign of the festive season had reach this part of the kingdom.

ps.....We did have a pile of Christmas cards piling up in the hall...unopened as yet....which did amaze her.

Australia...549-4.....Smith 229no.....M Marsh 181no....will they carry on batting tomorrow, why not....another 50/100 runs will get them out of sight.

Humiliation complete....even with a three hour delay because of rain seeping through the covers....thrashed by an innings....3-0 down ashes gone....poor batting and even poorer bowling....England's big guns Cook and Root failed spectacularly with the bat all series.

    Cricket Joke

Today the Daily Telegraph's front page is about illicit substances around those who work with Justin Gatlin (already banned twice), is Gatlin embroiled yet again in drug taking.

Joke by cartoonist Matt on the front page....shows a TV news reader.... with headlines behind him reading..."Performance enhancing drugs".... and he's saying... "A spokesman said the England cricket team are not under suspicion"

    Probably very true.
