dont know how many of you are into our book reading. I like good comic stuff. Recently finished the Ross O Carroll series. Great fun. There’s about fifteen books in the series. A knowledge of Dublin an advantage when reading them
I'm more of a non-fiction reader. Only humour I've really read was all of the Tom Sharpe books, the funniest being the first 2, based in South Africa.
I agree WJ, I'm more into the true stories myself. I do like to read books before they are made into films.
Shackletons way was the last book I read. A true example of a great leader. Got it on a management program at my old works and I was surprised at how good it was.
Don’t think so. It’s only been out in hard back about two months afaik. It’s about a plot to assassinate in 1938 before he started his land grab. Not quite finished it so can’t spoil the plot.
He died I thought it was about the Israeli agents who went after the terrorists who murdered the Olympic athletics
Was always a keen reader but because of work I wasn't able to do too much of it. However, now that I am retired I read a lot, probably too much since my wife bought me a Kindle. Funniest book I ever read? Spike Milligan's "Puckoon" by a long way.
Reada lot of Scandinavian noir and history, but the best and funniest book I've ever read is catch 22. But the !movie adaptation was ****e
Mein Kampf - an absolute must read!! “Humanitarianism is the expression of stupidity and cowardice.” ― Adolf Hitler
The full Tom Clancy set is massive and has even started the conspiracy theorists about his death. Clancy actually wrote a book which turned out to be almost the blueprint for 9/11 and he did it way before the actual event. Some really insightful geopolitics and action. Flashman books are awesome for a laugh as it doesn't remind me of Mighty in the slightest
The original Clancy books are fantastic, especially the Jack Ryan ones. The ones in his name after his death are very good too. Think about 5 have been made into movies so far.
Think theres around 15 books with Jack Ryan involved which involves moving through to the rainbow 1 books which involve jack Ryan jr and John Clarke with Jack still being President .
And there's the son of Jack Ryan books (& film). Plus a book about one of young Jack's cohorts too. Can't remember his name.
