I've just received an email from the club asking to fill out a survey about the "matchday experience" at St Mary's this season. Not sure the responses are going to be too positive.
Terrible visibility and a bit dusty....though now I think about it, that could be the back of the sofa rather than St Marys.
In what way? If you just moaned about him, based on hearsay or rumour, they’ll probably ignore that one.
Filled it out. My complaint was lack of information sometimes. Didn't criticise anyone specifically because I know little about how they work within the club...most of it is based on rumour...could end up pointing the finger at the wrong people.
I don’t think you could call my response as a critisim of the club. I did suggest they needed to make quicker decisions when it came to purchasing players and to be better prepared for when the window opens. I criticised them for publically backing the manager then sacking him a few weeks later. Also for the lack of communication especially regarding the appointment of the new manager. My final parting shot was that I thought the board consisted mainly of individuals who seemed to not understand the way to run a football club.
Has a one criticised them for the apparent turn around in ambition? All I’ve read above so far are relatively small, petty criticisms that aren’t really important. Surely none of those would be an issue if the club had a clear direction and strategy. We did have one only four or five years ago and an ambitious one at that. If I complete it, that’s what I’ll be telling them. I don’t really care if they don’t talk to menevery five minutes about what’s going on, but I do care about how successful they want this club to be, or if they have a belief and strategy just to survive. Let’s focus on the big issues here. We complain about lack of information, they’ll just send us more emails or make more statements.
Very true but I certainly think we need a bit more “openness” from them. Recently it seems like they’ve totally slammed the door shut whereas a few seasons ago, when all was sweet, they were very prominent.
Can’t disagree Gary, but for me it’s not a big issue unless it’s about our ambition and direction the club want to go. I have now done the survey (it was in my junk email).
****ing hell mate, didn’t realise your horse could grow much higher! The things people are saying to the club are perhaps important to them, therefore valid. You do have a point about some wider issues, but let people have their say without (and I doubt intentionally) telling them it’s not important. On track to your point, the club could communicate their strategy better, and we seem to have been sold the dream of its not the size that counts but more about what you do with it (a strategy I have fully endorsed since I was 15). Maybe we are deliberately not chucking info whilst secretly building an Everton sized war chest...
Whether we agree with one another or not...the club will want to hear opinions (even if they don't like them). It will give them an idea of fans thoughts....the reason for a survey surely. They will get an overall feel and I am sure are quite capable of spotting the outlying wierdos And they will also be aware that people with strong complaints are more likely to fill in the form than the neutrals (I hesitate to suggest that there are many who were happy this season).
If they were all positive it would not be very helpful. Similarly, unless its constructive criticism it's not going to help anyone. The trouble is, when everything goes well, no one is really bothered how good the comms is whereas, in the bad times, people just want to rant rather than 'communicate' in the true sense of the word. I thought the survey was quite well thought out really, focusing on the issues that the fans really do have knowledge of. That is, how they feel on match days rather than comment on how well things are run behind the scene which very few are qualified to comment on
Started it, got bored after about 3 minutes, binned it off. I have two requests to make of the club for next season; 1) win more games, and 2) turn the sodding PA down.
I complained about the lack of information on our clubs aims and plans for the future. Why we took so long to sack an infective manager. They should sack the catering company because I want to eat decent food inside the stadium. Why didn’t we sign better quality player this season! The toilets are in the stadium are shocking. Why can’t they have an employee to look after each of the toilets? Make sure the paper towels don’t run out after 30 seconds!! Why can’t we have some decent real Ales sold inside the stadium? Why is there no WiFi? I want to use social media, not606 or just upload a clip of the game to my mates. The sound system is terrible... I worried now that I’ve forgotten about something important. I will be making notes about what to complain about for next seasons fans survey.... But the other side of it is I love match days and it’s usualy a great atmosphere inside the stadium.
