The Referendum voted out Joe.....its the remainers who are desperate for another vote to overthrow the majority of the people...and the scaremongering they are causing is disgraceful and needs addressing.

 

Wake up plym it isn't scaremongering. It was in the news that you seem not to believe now it isn't convenient. You cannot tell me that you understood what the vote was about in the first place. That isn't slighting you because I sure as hell didn't and I believe hardly anyone did. Now other things have come out other than all the immigrants being here and the bus advert about the millions for the NHS which was never on anyway people are beginning to see it wasn't quite what it said on the tin. I would guarantee that if the vote was taken now it would go the other way by a mile. The region that hosts the Airbus factory voted out despite being told this might happen. I cannot find any sympathy for any of them if they lose their job and the region goes completely to rats as a result. They chose it so live with it. I mean that's what out voters tell remainers all the time don't they? Lemmings doesn't begin to describe it.

 

A bit of excitement just before I pop off to bed. Just had to call the Fire Department and a fire engine and police just turned up. Some fine citizen has set fire to a car in the car park at the end of our road. I live in a cul-de-sac which makes the end of the road a bit isolated and ideal for joy riders to get rid of the evidence. Not that we get burning cars very often but it's not the first time. My next door neighbours were in bed asleep presumably and the police had to bang like buggery on their door to wake them up. This car is in flames and is right next to their house and is exploding every few minutes when the fuel tank went and the tyres burst. Their alarm is going off and their security lights are all on full tilt. They might as well not bother to have any of it as none of it woke them up.

The fire people aren't very obliging. I asked them to give my garden a squirt with their hose whilst they had them out and working. I think they said no but it was a bit noisy out there.

 

Well I hope all's well now.....it better not happen in my cul-de-sac.... because we're one of the three bungalows at the end of ours.

 

There is a park outside our houses and it doesn't end when the houses do so there is loads of space further on for burning cars. Not sure if that's lucky or not.

 

I see that Tom Daley and his "husband" have become parents....the wonders of modern science.

 

Saw the top half of the Armed Forces Day air display from the back garden. Not a single aircraft from the RAF, Fleet Air Arm, Army Air Corps or the Battle of Britain flight.

I guess of what forces we have that aren't laid up are too busy.

There were a few Armed Forces Day thingies about the Country today so my guess is we haven't got that many doing nothing to go all the way around.

 

Just been watching Home Park Camera 1.....what's all that wet stuff coming down....not a cloud in the sky here and all ready 76F ....and 102F in my greenhouse...before I opened the door and windows.

 

But you'd have thought as one of only 3 UK naval base cities, we could have managed a couple of Navy helicopters.....

Not quite true there was no military air activity I suppose... the Red Devils did drop in.

The Red Devils could drop in anywhere in the UK in one day....would only take them approximately 30 minutes to do Plymouth and NW Kent.

 

Have the Navy got any helicopters anymore? They've only got half the ships they once had.

 

Just seen a photo on the Herald website notdistant. It has a helicopter in it. It is on the ground though.

 

Home Park Camera 1...suggesting that 3/7/18 is a nice sunny day in Plymouth with a little breeze in the trees.....sorry it doesn't tell me the temperature....but up here in NW Kent it's about 76F.

82F at noon (112F in the greenhouse with doors and windows all open)....no rain for weeks...everything going brown especially the grass....no hosepipe ban as yet...but can't be far away.....quite jealous of the rain I saw on Home Park Camera 1 a couple of days ago.
I might have to up my monthly bath so Mrs Plym can use the water on her masses of flowers she has in boarders and in pots.

 

Not enough rain plym as my grass is still very very yellow. It's trying to rain today but not having much success.

 

Watching a bit of tennis tonight (no football)...bleeging hell...rain stopped play.....it's 17.5 miles by road ( or 14 by crow) across south London between here and them....dark clouds and rain.....here it's bright and relentless sunshine like it's been for weeks...the grass is a light straw colour and I could mothball the mower until next year...or so it seems.

 

Just spotted in Sunday Times that Plym and I aren't the only ones to be worried by travel anomalies in Ross Poldark's journeying. How is that he can go to London on horseback and return by coach, only to find his faithful steed is back at Namparra waiting for him? Hand luggage?

After the anti-climax off the World Cup, what a performance from Lewis Hamilton today.

Technically a German car but entirely designed and manufactured in Britain. Started 14th after a hydraulic failure in qualifying and won it by staying out on dry weather tyres when others ran for wets. As ever, better than anyone else when it's slippery and didn't put a wheel wrong when race leader Sebastian Vettel threw into the barriers.

We may not produce Messi's or Ronaldo's but we dominate motor sport generally and F1 in particular, which is second only to aerospace in technical complexity.
