I see that Zak Vyner who has just signed a new three year contract at Bristol City has gone on a seasons loan to Championship newcomers Rotherham.

Interesting that Adams has a midfield loanee on his shopping list...and will be his last summer signing.

Could that mean that he has a quality midfielder lined up that would be normally be beyond our budget to take on full time ?

That's more like it Sensible. It's been a busy summer. Let's hope Adams' judgement has been up to his usual standard. We'll be OK if so.

I see we're about to miss out on Lee Grant...Stoke keeper who looks like he is going to Man U.

Oh dear what a pity....a few more Grants and we could have change the clubs name to Grantchester Argyle.

Some of the peasants on pasoti are becoming restless regarding the lack of progress on the grandstand development....been watching the Home Park 1&2 cameras....and not too much happening there lately either.

Not peasants plym just concerned supporters. It isn't much of a surprise that some people doubt Mr Brent on the construction side of his dealings is it. Doesn't surprise me.

I think some people would condemn Brent no matter what he did. The ones you refer to for example and they just do what pasoti do but in reverse. They are in all intense and purposes the same type of people even if they deny it. You can get banned for not agreeing with the general flow of a site on either. I really can't be arsed to even bother to argue with any of those anymore. It just descends into name calling and bullying.

There are plenty of people who post on pasoti who don't think Brent's record of completion in the building game is any good. I think though a number are like me who couldn't be bothered with the argument and invite the onslaught so just keep quiet about their views. At least on here any dispute or rather difference of opinion is civilised.

No matter what the facts are, supporters will always have their entrenched views on things. Interestingly, working on the 'inside' has made me far less in favour of one side or the other. I guess everyone has a valid view- it is just how this is articulated that is sometimes a problem. Interesting how some peoples' views have shifted over the last few weeks/months as well....

Some of the dissenting views I don't disagree with but I do object to the way some put their point over. I have made my views on not doing the 100% trust thing quite clear. However, whilst I don't accept the "saviour" tag is justified I do accept that if somebody had not lent their name to the proposals when the death knell was being rung then the patient would have probably died. If I had put my name forward it would have been laughed at so it had to be somebody with a credible background. Brent was that man even though his saving plan was a bit on the tight side cash wise. He hasn't covered himself in glory since that day with other things he has been involved with but it is a fact that Argyle have prospered in football terms since. Nobody can argue with that because the league position and story since arrival is there for all to see. That doesn't mean I don't treat some things with suspicion. Having been bitten on the arris previously I think it is quite valid to hold him to account and voice that concern if it arises. I do admit that my dissenting voice has gone a bit quieter since day one.

Construction works take time. The info that is available does still refer to "enabling works" and given this isn't a straight forward demolition but a refurbishment, it's not quite as easy as just popping down to Wickes and getting some dynamite in the Summer Sale.

Old Fred Dibnah would have " refurbished" that lot with help from his traction engine....before any rules and regulations and political correctness had a chance of raising its ugly head......at the cost of a beer or two and a cheese sandwich down his local......now... his garden shed was something to behold.

Recently I saw a replay of some of Dibnah's TV series - probably recycled in Danny Baker's "Brushing Up On" progammes (very funny if you haven't seen them),

Christ Alive, climbing those smoke stack chimneys with no safety tethers at all and then making a roll up perched on the brick parapet. I was squirming just watching it.
