Got my over packaged season ticket and am raring to go for the first one at Home Park this season....................(couldn't resist)

It's Southend this Saturday and both teams have zero points to show for the season start. They are 5 places above us in the table currently due to scoring one more goal than we did last weekend. They were at home however so it isn't much of a guide to how this weekend might go. The reports from last weekend were encouraging even if the result wasn't. I see no reason why we can't get our first positive result as I don't think Southend will be pulling up trees this season even if saffy from Sunderland has given us to lose on our prediction board. A reasonable win for the greens so what can possibly go wrong.

Quietly confident, but I will be hugely relieved come 1700 tomorrow. I know it might not seem like it but there has been a lot (and I mean a lot) of work gone on since the end of last season ( and some major hurdles to overcome this week) . Some wont be noticeable, but for the regular 'horseshoe' residents I hope you approve of the changes. As always I look forward to your feedback! Comfortable 2-0 win with 6 balls deemed 'out of bounds' in the Mayflower Terrace!

Looks a little damp at Home Park this morning looking at webcam's 1 & 2.

Bright sunny day in NW Kent this morning...temperature about 68F...fresh and breezy....just right for our usual High Elms walk before the match.

Hope you survive the day Lyndy and Argyle give us all 3pts to enjoy.

1-1 H/T...reports I've looked at say that our penalty looked dubious and that we are playing poorly....Southend looking the better side....both managers sent off.

After 70 minutes the stats suggest that Argyle are not in this game at all...score still 1-1.

Watching the game live in BC Argyle were poor and lucky to get a point.

If anyone tries to tell you that Argyle derserved a point or anything else from the game today then they are lying. We were rubbish from the first whistle and frankly didn't get better as the game went on. Southend played us off the park for the first 15 minutes or so. So much so that we hardly had a touch of the ball and then when we did it was only to give it back to them. They passed and moved and we seemed to be still in the changing room getting ready for a nights kip. Somehow we managed to take the lead. The lino seemed to think it was a penalty to us and nearly waved his arm off to the Ref. The Ref consulted him and had little choice but to give the spot kick. There then followed a period of complaint at the Ref and Lino who was never going to change his mind. Was it a penalty? Hmmmm. Bit soft I think. Carey scored which was the only thing he did in 90 minutes.

They then got a penalty of their own. Was it a penalty or was the Ref equalling things up? Nope, it was a penalty for me as Taylor pushed their player over and it was noticeable that nobody from Argyle even bothered to complain. That says it all for me. 1 - 1 and it was totally justified as it would have been a travesty if Southend had ended the half behind. Southend Manager got a bit assey with Adams over something on the pitch. Taylor was adjudged to have fouled their man with a poke in the face. Their man hit the ground like he had been hit by Tyson. Load of cobblers for me and I think Adams as well and he was telling them all that. Their Manager wanted a double or tripple red card or something and he wasn't agreeing. Ended with him grabbing Adams by the throat. Ref consulted the 4th official and both got a straight Red.

Second half was much the same as the first. We were never in it. Carey was poor. Lameiras was worse. Fox was dreadful. In fact apart from our Keeper nobody covered themselves with any glory. I heard people saying it was a new squad so they "had to bed in". Cobblers to that as well. Every club almost without exception has a new squad and Argyle are not unique in that. If this is what we have to look forward to for the rest of the season then it is going to be a very long one indeed. MOM was our Keeper by a country mile. Rest of them need a kick up the ass and a lesson in effort. Next home match is............................Wycombe on a Tuesday night. Oh dear.

From looking at the GoS photos I see some of the catering prices are rather high.....£2.50 for a tea bag and hot water....blimey.

Yea but £2.25 profit from that goes into the team though plym. It's a bargain. It's cheaper in a Service Station.

But in affluent S E England you can get a POT OF TEA with TWO tea bags in, for £2 and in a PROPER CUP...plus a seat and table.... and you can get a CHOICE of what brand and type of tea bag you have.....I'm sorry I would go without than be MUGGED (see what I did there) by that sort of pricing...wouldn't they sell more if the price was more reasonable.....is the catering a franchised out sensible.

Couldn't go yesterday due to a family occasion but very poor also the clear message on Twitter. Too many high balls lumped up at Taylor and coming straight back, criticism of Wootton at CB, no centre midfield, calls for Ladapo to start in place of Lameiras.

    Other than that, all good!

The catering is the same in any captured audience plym. Wherever you go where there is no choice the prices are always higher. Don't know who does the catering as I would never dream of buying any. The answer to your question of if it was cheaper would they sell more is probably yes in my opinion. You can buy a pasty for around a pound cheaper on the way into the park. There are normally queues.

Back to the football and yes the CH was a bit poor. Wootton did not play well and is not quite Sonny Bradley. But, none of them played well for me so I guess nobody stood out as being much worse than anyone else. I have to say that they didn't look as if they had played together at all or trained for that matter.
