Not looking forward to this one. Defence is a ****ing shambles. Hopefully young Hendry is left on the bench - not because I think he's a bad player - it's just he gets the blame for every defensive mistake even though it's been the more experienced players who've been at fault for the goals in the last two games. Not sure who I'd have partnering Ajer in the middle of defence. Sumonivic is suspended and Boyata can GTF. Would be tempted to play Gamboa at right back and move Lustig into the middle. Can't see anything other than an AEk win unfortunately.
Okay, turns out Ajer is suspended for the second leg so I'd go with Sumo and Lustig (assuming neither of them are suspended).
lustig cannot play centre half. simonovic and hendry will start. will be a game to watch through the fingers. on a plus note, athens have something to defend and as such I don't expect them to come out too much. I expect they will sit in.
Well, sadly all too predictable. Three defensive lapses let us down over the two ties. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, here's the picture a second before AEK scored their first goal last night: please log in to view this image Lusting, again, fails to stop a cross coming into the box and not one Celtic player reacts quickly enough to get to the ball before the AEK attacker. An absolute shambles of a defence.
