I might be going a bit out on a limb here and therefore hope no hit man will appear because I've spilled the beans with a theory. My guess is that virtually all very very rich people have done something in their past to earn at least some of their money. Fiddled a book or two, paid their workers peanuts instead of wages, done it off the back of slave labour in poor countries, inherited money their forefathers have stolen in history. You name it most have probably fallen into one of those categories. You seldom get to be very very rich by being nice. Mr A is just one of them.

I'm not a person who thinks people shouldn't be rich as such but I do think there should be a limit to how rich. I always remember the "Stars" of the time making a record with the hope that the great unwashed would pour out their hard earned and help "feed the World". Stood on that stage was just one bloke who could have donated the whole of the amount himself that was collected at the time from his small change pocket. Mr Beatle aka Paul McCartney. The rest of them could have multiplied the amount by ten from a small proportion of their accrued fame money. But mostly they just sang a few notes and wanted me and you to do it instead. Sadly had they donated said cash at that time they would have mostly had it all back with interest since then whereas my accrued wealth has not increased that much and is never likely to.

 

That's bleddy spooky. I tried to amend my first post because I hadn't finished typing it when it suddenly posted and I end up with half a post to start with and then the full post repeated with the amendments........................I know I've had a glass of plonk but I'm not pee'd just yet.

 

I know this isn't the right place to post this but it follows on from what sensible has said above.

The collapse of the soviet union made those who were in the right place at the right time multi-billionaires and unaccountable wealth.....what a shame Mr Chelsea couldn't be at Wembley because his paperwork hasn't been updated in time.

Leaving that aside, I believe that both Man U and Liverpool are owned by what I'd call proper corporate interests with all the corporate governance that entails.

Spurs and Arsenal seem to have a more patriarchal ownership but seem to to operate on a sound basis.

Man City... yep as you say dodgy money has got them where they are.

As we all know work has been progressing at HP....before the they start on the actual Grandstand development.

Have any of you been looking in on Webcams 1 & 2......camera 2 has been quite interesting with the clearing of the Chisholm Suite and then the whole base area.

I have been admiring the driver of that big black/blue earthmoving machine....he can literally spin it around on a sixpence....and with those large jaws pick up quite small, objects to separate from the rest and stack pieces elsewhere...metal....wire etc....now that is a skilled job.....big boys toys come to mind.

 

If you were admiring the driver before, he has his pecker out this afternoon Plymborn.

It's really big and powerful, he's using it to smash up the concrete base of one of the old buildings at that end.

 

They examined that base for quite awhile before starting on it....hosed it down for awhile and checked it out....I'm not sure what the problem was, it surely couldn't of been that they were checking for asbestos content....any ideas ?

 

Ah the studied, unhurried style of the British workman....

 

Having seemingly cleared that Chisholm Suite area....they started drilling up another second depth of quite thick concrete....could that of been the foundation of the old floodlight tower from awhile back ?

I would think there must be the odd un-exploded bomb or two still around Plymouth....that big Earthmovers pneumatic drill could easily detonate one and despatch that Earthmover to the centre circle of the pitch and maybe postpone the Tuesday and Saturday home games against...Wycombe Wanderers and Peterborough for awhile....sorry my vivid imagination has taken over....there would also be a vacancy for a skilled Earthmover driver as well.

 

Who knows what might be buried in that corner..........

 

The ground was hit wasn't it? I think I read that the furniture and belongings of families already bombed out was stored at under the grandstand at Home Park for safe keeping. Ironically, it was then destroyed when the Grandstand itself was bombed, unintentionally presumably.

You can just about see that a stick of bombs seems to have landed between Home Park and the Milehouse/Britannia junction.

 

Ummm it just occurred to me that I selected to COLLECT tickets for Tuesday's game against Wycombe.

Where is the ticket office now? Lyndy?

I was at Cobham service station at around 11am this morning at it was slightly raining plym. Not all of Kent in sunshine...............

 

Cobham's not in Kent.....affluent Surrey...bankers country.....79F late afternoon sunny and quite muggy with it here in NW Kent.

 

Well it bleddy should be in Kent. It was very muggy everywhere today and it rained a few times in various places.
