I've discovered I'm asking the wrong question each week. Instead of What could possibly go wrong I should have been saying everything possible could go wrong given my half empty glass and pessimistic outlook on everything this planet has to offer. I'm a thoroughbred Janner so what else would you expect. Even good old Derek has sussed us out.

Whoopeeee!!!! I should have said last weekend we got a great point away from home. We didn't score any goals but we didn't let any in either so that is reason to go overboard and be happy. Apparently. I should be grateful we have a team at all and the fact that the football has been pants this season so far does not give me any license to complain. So I won't then even if every nerve in my body is screaming out to do it. It's not easy being a Janner you know. Nothing good ever happens here and even the battery in my mouse ran out this evening. I cleaned up 3 lots of cat **** from my garden today and the postman didn't bring me any mail.

Anyone want to put anything positive for this Saturday please feel free to do so.

I can confidently say that ....Blackpool will not score 3 goals in the last 6 minutes for two weeks running.

PS.....probably because they scored them in the first half....and don't need to.....:headbang:.

When in the UK i go back to my Devonshire accent "Arr Jim lad " etc.
Senisible can you name the Team around 1958 Wilf Carter, Pat Jones, Jim Wyatt, Jonny Williams, John Newman and more.

Nope I can't BC. I was only 9 then and my Dad didn't take me to football. My parents couldn't afford the luxury of football matches. It's a long story and mostly it was because I had a brother who was terminally ill at that time and Father's wages were not the best in the world. The first matches I ever went to was around the age of 12/13 when me and a mate used to sneak in under the gate at halftime by the Devonport end. Along with a few other kids that is. I joined the Navy at 16 and was away from Plymouth for most of my 14 years in it so although I followed the scores and stuff I didn't attend many matches. I only got into actually being able to go when I left the RN and worked in Civvy Street. The wife was glad to get rid of me for a few hours. I took my own son when he was around 6 years old and he still goes with me now and he's 42.

I do know all of the names you quote above though.

BC....You can check out every player, every match, on the GoS website.
    ,
Argyle won Div 3 in 1958/59.

    The players you mention.....
    Wilf Carter.....1957/64
Pat Jones.....1957/58.......he left the year before.
    Jonny Williams.....1955/66
Johnny Newman.....1960/67.....he arrived the year after.

Now there never has been a Jim Wyatt at Argyle.....but Reg Wyatt played between 1955/64 so that'll be your man.

So you can see they all played together....except for Johnny Newman who didn't arrive until 1960.

I have to get up late notdistant. I can't afford to eat breakfast and lunch. Got up today and got a phone call from my GP to say I have to go for a blood test. But, being a happy Janner I can say it didn't rain.

I got a bus home from Town today and the driver was a bloke I've known for years as he used to drive me to work most days where I was virtually the only one on the bus so we passed the time of day and got to know each other. "How many are they going to lose by tomorrow" he asked as an opening sentence. "Nah they will turn it around and we will get 3 points tomorrow" I replied with a smile. "Do you go and watch them these days" I asked him. "You must be bleddy joking I haven't been for years" he said. "Why would I waste my money on that crap". I would like to point out that although he has lived here for a lot of years he is in fact from the London area originally. Really negative isn't he? Me on the other hand tried very hard to be positive and I hail from a more local area. I rest my case..................

As a non Janner I am allowed to be positive. 2-0 to us . Could you also send me a postal order for the money you owe the club for sneaking in Sensible. No idea what will really happen. Blackpool have sold 67 tickets thus far so not expecting a bumper crowd. Almost certainly the final match at HP using the old , traditional (but dreadful) changing rooms. Off to Paris on Sunday for a few days (Mrs Lyndy significant birthday) which will be a welcome break from football.

I have some old coins in a jar somewhere. I believe the cost of entry was around 1 shilling and sixpence for a child under 16 in those days. I will admit to 3 false entries and as it was at halftime then I will halve the entrance fee. I reckon I owe 2 shillings and three pence. I will forward it dreckly. Oh hang on I forgot the interest. I will send a cheque for £4m as soon as I can.
