Oh dear what can the matter be
Everyone thinks we'll get dicked this Saturday

Don't panic Mr Mainwaring Sir, big club coming to town and it's no good treating it like our cup final cause were crap in cups. What shall we do?

Lets face it on paper we ought to lose this one given the league placings and form they have been in. That's despite us winning the last two. But, we can do this if we come out and build a wall across our goal. So, that's my plan. Use all the bricks that the nice Mr Brent has failed to use so far, get there early and put the foundations in. If anyone has got a better plan then please feel free to express it.

Bricks ain't enough.....how about getting those excavators wedged across our goal....and we might then steal a 0-0 draw.

It's Sunderland, not Barcelona. Go out and attack them.

I've just posted my preview on the Sunderland board

Any changes expected to your squad?
Plymouth Argyle (4-3-3): Matt Macey, Tafari Moore, Yann Songo'o, Niall Canavan, Conor Grant; David Fox (capt), Jamie Ness, Antoni Sarcevic; Graham Carey, Freddie Ladapo, Joel Grant.
Substitutes: Ruben Lameiras, Stuart O’Keefe, Gregg Wylde, Kyle Letheren (gk), Ashley Smith-Brown, Peter Grant, Luke Jephcott.
Injured: Edwards, Wootton, Riley, Sawyer, Taylor

Good luck - it should be a good game.

I read your post earlier on there and a very good effort it is may I say. I can't be bolloxed with all that stuff and this lot wouldn't appreciate it anyway. I don't expect much in the way of change because that's not Adams style. He only does something if forced into it. Our season didn't start until around now last season and you could be forgiven for thinking this is deja vous. I'm not convinced we have improved all that much even if the last two games have been better. To be fair they couldn't have been worse.

Alll I hope for is a decent match with both sets of supporters behaving themselves before during and after the game. We have a few idiots as most clubs do. It's a pity our ground is being refurbished because I think you could have brought another thousand easily if there was room. Safe journey to all who are travelling both here and home and may the best team on the day win.

I went into Town today on the bus and the driver was somebody I've known for quite a long time. He is normally quite grumpy about Argyle and their fortunes. One of those Plymouth people who would only go to Argyle if they did something wonderful first rather than go, pay something to them to assist them to do something wonderful. I nearly fell over today. He actually mentioned the opposition we have tomorrow and followed it up with the words....................."You know what I think they can do something tomorrow". That folks is the most positive thing he has ever come out with for Argyle. Something special must happen now I'm sure.

Sunderland started the stronger but Argyle have now made a couple of half chances.

BBC Newcastle describe the game as "very even" after 30 mins

Adams might mention penalties....when he is interviewed......possibly a game of three penalties.....one given to Sunderland (was it ?).....and two refused for Argyle.

But it sounds as if Argyle played well against a team that should get promoted this season.....financially they've got the clout that we haven't....we are showing that we have got a chance of being mid-table at the end of the season....just need to press on.

Let's see what Sensible has to say (And Lyndie if he's able) but the radio commentary suggested we did OK.

Penalty was said to be soft.

What was said though was that perhaps we paid Sunderland too much respect and only really got going after we went 1-0 down.

That's easy to say though when the other side have a players like Mcgeady, with 90+ international caps and a salary of £1.5m!

Right folks here we go with what is going to sound like sour grapes to the non neutral from up north. Make no mistake about this we were robbed by the Referee in this one. No blame to Sunderland on that score but definately the Ref bottled it and it seemed like big club syndrome to me.

The first half was pretty even throughout and neither team played great football and neither played bad football. The score at halftime was the right one and it was though a fairly entertaining half. The second half kicked off and it was obvious that Sunderland were going for it from the start. They pinned us back and the goal that came was a peach. McGeady picked up the ball out widish and ran across our box just outside. Nobody challenged him and he let fly with an unstopable shot which curled around Macey's finger tips. Well taken and no complaints about it going in. We then started to play which is typical of Argyle having gone behind. This is where the Referee took over. Songo was taken out in the box and he waved play on. It was stonewalll for me and I sit just opposite as you know. The second offence was even more stonewall. Their player saved the ball which was goal bound with both hands by dropping to the deck. It was handball all day long and he just waved it away. Everyone went bonkers at him as you would expect. Their No. 8 should have gone for a second bookable. The Ref bottled that one. Then to make matters worse he awarded them a penalty without a moments notice or thought. It seemed pretty clear that it was our man who was fouled yet he instantly pointed to the spot. 2 - 0 and it was a complete injustice. The Referee clearly suffers from big club syndrome. You know the sort of thing. "You shouldn't have to come to places like this on a Saturday, Far too big so I will help you out with a soft decision". The crowd were now beyond angry.

No complaints about Sunderland winning the game. But, we didn't deserve to lose it andd especially in that manner. If we play like that every week we will win more than we will lose and we will not go down. If we get this Ref again however we might have to lynch him befor kick off. Argyle played quite well for their nothing result so I can't really fault them either.
