    Argyle...0-5...Chelsea U21's.

That when well didn't it.....Adams played too many important first choice players....including Fox, Ness, Songo'o, Lameiras and Carey (sub).

Cooper played in goal and our attack was Fletcher and Jephcott.

Why risk players yet up front use two youngsters....yet no chance for Battle and Dyson was only a sub.

This is where me and this competition fall out and it is not only that the Premier League are joining in something that is feck all to do with them. There are rules regarding who can and can't play in this useless competition. The rule book says that we have to play a certain number of players who were in the team the last time we played. Now how many of the Chelsea players played in their clubs last league match? Zilch probably. So, they risk none of their first team in this but we have to under threat of a fine if we don't. From what I can gather this encounter was a bit feisty at times with a few bookings thrown in. That counts against our first team players whereas Chelsea have nothing to worry about. Injury risk is yet one more. We risk injuries to our first team players when we have half the squad they have and they probably don't care if one of their's gets a kick anyway. The league is our bread and butter competition but we risk all for this twopenny halfpenny crap. To say I'm glad it's over is putting it mildly. We have Sunderland on Saturday. Hard enough with a fully fit squad.

How many Chelsea U21's have a remote chance of getting on the subs bench of the first team....there's probably 40/50 players ahead of them in the pecking order.

We supposed to have had 8 first team players on show.....Cooper didn't get a good write-up.....Fletcher wasn't too involved and Jephcott tried but not successful.

So why did Adams bring on Carey at all in the second half when the result was by then well decided....makes no sense.

Outclassed by youngsters 5-0...before having to play Sunderland...isn't the best preparation for a successful confidence show on Saturday.

I'm aware that we are using the Prediction League site for general discussion....ok we didn't start a Chelsea U21 link so I'll just add to the debate on last nights game.

This Checkatrade Trophy is a disaster area......sensible has already said that league clubs have to field a %age of players who turned out for their previous league game....whilst elite clubs only have to play their U21's.

From all accounts last nights game got a little feisty at times with both sides getting stuck in with big tackles.....it was reported that early on David Fox got tackled rather too physically and he was seeing red for a lot of the match.

We could have succumbed to a few important players being out injured for our next important league game....whilst Chelsea never had a first teamer in 200 miles of getting injured last night.....an imbalance of some sought there I would suggest.....totally unfair to smaller clubs and their limited resources of maybe 20/25 player squads.

Also last nights gate was only 1,504....this at reduced entry costs would mean that we played a game at possibly a financial loss.....does that matter to Chelsea a premier club who get mega Sky pay outs for each league match they play and gate receipts are less necessary.

For a start, there's some unpleasant intimidatory comment out there on social media from the thuggish wing of the fan base towards those that do attend these games or even show an interest.

And your points about having to risk players in pointless games are obviously correct.

All in all, we're better off out of it but not necessarily by losing that way.

    If it's double then think I should have 10 Joe. Barnsley joker = 2, Portsmouth 1, Rochdale 1 and Scunthorpe 1 = 5 x 2 = 10.

Plym, I think we will do the Plymouth, score, attendance and time of first Goal. Exeter and torquay scores. As per usual scoring and a joker

Total number of goals in the first round also that will be for 10 points correct and 5 for nearest.
