    Should they be for public displays only?

    It's just they are never ending now;

    Halloween
    Guy Fawkes (will span generally over two weekends)
    Diwali
    New Years Eve
    Chinese New Year

    I read an article that claimed from 2009 to 2016 there was a 111% increase in firework injuries. Yet over the years I thought stricter measures on there sale had been brought in. I can only guess the increased injuries are due to the increased time span of them being used. Let alone animals hate them.

    It seems like a bit of a killjoy thing, but yeah I think they should be limited to organised shows only. Aside from the injuries caused each year, there are so many animals that are scared ****less by fireworks. Touch wood my Puppy seems to be fine with them, but I've had dogs in the past who have literally been a mess for hours on end at hearing one rocket.

    I don't mind so much if I can plan for it, but private firework shows go on for around 2-3 weeks around the beginning of Nov on any given evening. I don't know, maybe they could just limited private home fireworks to the two saturdays each side of 5th Nov, but it would be impossible to police.

    Shame really as I really like fireworks.

    Is there a time limit that you have to reasonably stop by during the week?

    As this was the cause of my argument the other day.

    There is;

    Fireworks must not be let off between 11pm and 7am, except on Chinese New Year, Diwali and New Year's Eve, when the period is extended until 1am, and on Guy Fawkes Night, when the period is extended until midnight. It is illegal to set off fireworks (including sparklers) in the street or public place.

    Yeah quarter past 11 out the back while my 4 year old was trying to sleep was enough for me.

    The thing is, normally I'm quite lenient with that **** as I know how it is when you're young etc. but they stopped at half 10 and decided to start up again at 23:15.

    Not ****ing happening.

    It's getting ridiculous these days when people can afford to buy fireworks and let them off just cos it's their ****ing birthday <doh>
    Plus they are much more powerful , and in particular louder ,than they used to be which has led to the fact my dog won't go outside after dark unless i go with her.

    The thing is, if they had just carried on I would have probably allowed it until half 11 or so as I would be more understanding, but no they actually stopped for nearly an hour and then just thought they could start up again. Dickheads.
