I see Daniel Sturridge has been charged by the FA for breaking betting rules.

He's clearly innocent. He's never influenced a football match in his life.

What do you all think about this Wayne Rooney saga that's going on......he's coming on as a second-half sub.....with a guard of honour and he will take the captains arm-band from Delph for the rest of the match against the USA....and I assume afterwards he will retire all over again.....:headbang:.

I agree with Peter Shilton. International caps should be awarded on merit not just to make a round number up on Rooney's appearances. There should be no such thing as a Testimonial in national terms. I don't care if there is a charitable thing with it or not.

I think money talks. We are playing the USA. Wayne Rooney plays in the USA... Join the dots.

Make a law to stop him coming back again leading his gang of kids onto the pitch for sympathy.

.....and also today, not just the rugby but the England...v...Croatia football international not on terrestrial TV.....the God of big bucks rules over everything....yet how do the lower leagues not flourish from the dripping down effect.

Our top twenty clubs are sobbing their hearts up that they are expected to put into Richard Scudamore's £5 million golden handshake when he retires from being the Premier League Chairman soon....wouldn't it be better for it to go into grass roots football....but hey ho what do I know.

He must of been on a good wedge as Chairman of the richest league in the world, why does he have to be given such an obscene freebie as well.

Decent performance from England again. Quite a dour midfield selection with Dier and Delph both included but Croatia are World Cup finalists even if they aren't the biggest of names historically.

England dominated the first half but once again missed several half decent chances from open play. Raheem Sterling was again a particular culprit but his general play in getting that close had the Croatians scrambling. On one occasion when Sterling passed rather than taking a shot on his left foot, it was interesting to see Delph clearly mouthing "Go on, give it a go". Apparently Delph is in Southgate's inner cabinet of players that he consults with, which is a little surprising since he's had a patchy Premier League career and has only 18 caps. He'll end up as a manager himself I think.

Typically, and against the run of play, England conceded early in the second half, giving the ball away in the Croation half and getting hit by a quick break. Stones was a little too aggressive in trying to stop the raid, letting the ball past him. Kramaric danced with the ball for what seemed like 5 minutes before hitting a deflected shot which looped over Picford's head.

England were undeterred and Southgate made attacking substitutions in Alli, Lingard and the 18 year old Sancho. They continued to dominate a won it with two somewhat scruffy but very well deserved goals.

Derek Adams has said that Argyle need to strengthen in January....but it needs players to move on before the funds would become available for that to happened.
When asked if he was referring to players outside his first choice squad...he said yes, but also from his first choice squad as well.

Hallet has said that the recruitment policy could change. Now that indicates a change in strategy and possible spend of some money. I don't think I'll hold my breath on that one yet.

Just been reading the various bits and quotes from Adams after Saturday. The squad have to be sorted out he says and some will have to move on so he can "strengthen" the squad. So not an ounce of backing for his players there then. Followed up with a battering of his supposed star player Carey who now misses the Fleetwood game through automatic suspension. Ok Carey was stupid to get a booking for dissent but to publicly kick him is not a managers best move is it. But, the one quote I have been looking for all weekend is the one where he says !I'm really sorry the travelling supporters paid all that money to come here and support the team only to be served up a diabolical performance like that". Is it in the Herald? No. Is it on the beeb website? Nope not there either. Is it on the club website? Don't be daft. It isn't anywhere is the answer because Adams doesn't do blame where he is involved. I have to say I am getting more and more pee'd off with the man and less and less convinced he still has something to offer Argyle. The ship isn't turning this time and the lack of class from Adams is beginning to show almost every week.

Difficult to see how we're going to offload players who were signed only 6 months previously isn't it?

Buying out their contracts would be surely counter productive....ending up with no money for their replacements.....I cannot see a queue developing for their signatures from other clubs.....we cannot allow Lameiras or Songo'o to leave....and I doubt if anyone would be interested at the moment in Carey, tantrums and all.
