City deceived FA over financial fairplay

Discussion in 'Manchester City' started by Hoddle is a god, Nov 5, 2018.

  1. So, what should the punishment be?

I say it should be automatic relegation from the Prem and an embargo on any transfers for 5 years.

    Comments, please, lads.

Why would the FA want to lose their record breaking champion who has increased the marketability, profitability and competitiveness of the league and as of yet not made it a one pony race from start to finish?

It doesnt make economic sense and wont ever happen.

All is one and one is all of homosapiens

While City, PSG and other clubs appear to have made a mockery of FFP, Uefa stands by its regulations, arguing that they have made club finances healthier and more stable than ever, with 1,700m euros of combined losses across professional European leagues in 2011 transformed into 600m euros of profit last year.

The whole game is a farce nowadays!!

La Liga up in arms about it!! I mean Real Madrid having a £950M sponsorship deal with Adidas and getting bailed out year after year by Madrid city,,,

Lets let UEFA go through their books,,

FFP was only brought in to try and sto the likes of City getting access to the financial trough the likes of Utd Liverpool Madrid Barca etc had been gorging from for years,it was for no other reason
Now you see clubs like Bolton struggling under the weight of their debts, the Oystons asset stripping Blackpool, SISU trying to run Coventry into the ground so they can get the stadium on the cheap, Portsmouth being used for money laundering, clowns like Ashley and the Venkys and, last but not least, the Glazers.
All of them carry on virtually unmolested but which owner gets all the stick?

The one who revives a club on its uppers, funds it generously, without debt yet makes it self-sustaining, transforms the local area and has his team playing the best football the league has ever seen.

And you wonder why we don’t care about the champions league

This is what FFP was introduced for, if you stick within it and don't use financial doping you will have no problems.
It was never meant to make smaller clubs more competitive, just to stop them going down the drain when the big money owners pulled out.

No that was the idea that was sold to the public for, in reality it was to maintain the status quo and stop another City/PSG situation.

Indeed, the truth is all succesful clubs have done it with outside investment, if you look back far enough in their history. It's not about protecting small clubs from financial melt-down, but protecting UEFA's income streams from the big clubs.

One way to increase the chances of an unlikely PL Title. Before you start passing sentence, it’s innocent until proven guilty and City have not been found guilty of anything yet and even then there is an appeal process so don’t get too excited just yet about the prospect of removing a major obstacle to your title pipe dream!
