I've just been looking up the time difference with various parts of the World that some of our posters reside in.

Happy New Year already to hp-bedoboy who should by now have downed his last glass of whatever is his poison, kissed anything that moves in a skirt or trouser suit (in the interests of equality) and be off to bed either on his own or accompanied.

AWAYINBC however has another 8 and a bit hours to go for his New Years treats. I won't be up at that time of his morning so Happy New Year when it arrives. Give the bears a big smacker from me (and then run like feck).

As for the rest of us normal people who live solely by UK time. We aren't going to be part of Europe soon so I think we should adopt that stiff upper lip British thing and have our own celebration no matter what. Just in case I'm not awake when it happens in just over half an hour's time, I've had a glass or one, I hope everyone has a very happy and properous New Year and only good things happen in 2019.

Her son has a tag, special permit for hunting bears at certain times and uses a bow to kill and quite good at it by all accounts.

I hope they arm the bears and make it fair then. I'm not against hunting as such but do object to killing soething for killing sake. Kill it, cook it, eat it and that's ok. Just kill it for fun and recreation is a no for me.

I think the Bear has an advantage over the Human in a fight contest, i think this year it's Bear 6 - 0 over the Humans.

Maybe it is everywhere in Can/US for hunting in general but they have to cull a certain amount every year in some areas as to keep the deers, moose etc in healthy numbers for humans to eat in the wilderness or something close to that description. Again the special license only given to very few hunters.
