This was a game that begged the question "will we bounce back after 3 straight defeats" or! "is it the beginning of one of Bielsa's past downward slides"...........we bounced back with a great performance against one of the top 6 teams, but questions were being asked.

Some were saying it's our best ever performance to date, and while it was a great performance football wise, I don't think it was our best. We had great performances at beginning of season, and there was the performance against Sheff U, but this game is definitely on par.

Wasn't a game without it's dramas either, denied 2 penalties (nothing new there) and a linesman and ref who needed windscreen wipers on their contacts.

2 good goals scored with Jack Clarke involved in both. He's a big discovery and, imo is a close carbon copy of Eddie Gray.

When Alioski and Saiz first came to Leeds, they created big problems for defences, then they become targets of fouls; I'm just wondering how long it'll be before Jack starts getting similar treatment.

Great performance by the lads, played together, kept it together and deserved a 4-0 scoreline, but we'll settle for 2-0 nil and staying top of table. Other scores went in our favour, WBA v Norwich a 1-1 draw, and Sheff U winning 1-0. Sheff U winning or losing would've kept us 4 points and 2 games clear at the top either way.

    Now, BPF.

He didn't have a lot to do, and I was certainly flabbergasted when he made a decision, and carried it through to come so far out of his area to block an attempted shot, total surprise.

Then the high studs incident happened while taking a cross.

This is an incident that could've given Derby a penalty, and got BPF sent off, which could've also changed the course of the game. Thanks to an inept ref, lucky, and I say damn lucky lucky for us the ref didn't challenge it, other refs would've sent him off.

You could see from the close up camera replays that BPF took the cross with his bent leg forward, nothing wrong with that, basic keeper training. Then, the camera showed how BPF looked at the incoming player and followed through by raising his leg and showing his studs to the player. I don't care what anyone says, this is an absolute no no for a keeper, especially for a keeper who's been playing as long as BPF........BPF was lucky, and the team were lucky he didn't get his marching orders cos BPF, imo did it purposely.

IMO, BPF will never become a top flight keeper, at 22 he should be showing the goods for all to see, but he doesn't.

Great game, great performance, great result and we continue to march on.

Premier league teams must be quaking in their boots.

    Highlights care of Rams TV.

BPF kept a clean sheet, Holmes twice had his studs showing before his clash with BPF, the ref got it bang right, it was the Derby players own fault trying to headbutt BPF's studs, **** em, stick up for your own players for once

I know what you're saying Olof, and I do stick up for my players, but what BPF did was wrong, irrespective how you saw Holmes acting. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Like I said, camera shows BPF doing it deliberately, could've been detrimental to team as another ref would've sent him off.

Sorry Olof, I'm not going to condone what is wrong........:emoticon-0148-yes:

If the ref says he didn't see it,could get a retrospective ban.

Yet your report doesn't mention the assault on Ayling and the horrendous tackle on Pontus, both of which were a lot worse than what BPF did, both worthy of a red card but only 1 yellow given.

And you're looking to attack my opinion, vindicated by the camera, by bringing up other tackles in the game, of which there were many. Seems you've missed a few.

You forgot the tackles on Alioski.

You don't get it do you gessa, you obviously didn't watch the game on net.

BPF new what he was doing when he raised his studs to Holmes face cos he looked directly at Holmes before raising his studs..

Could've put Holmes out the game for a long time, or worse, for good. You obviously condone that.

WC, you at it again, trying to claim my opinion isn't fact.

You obviously didn't watch the game on net either, otherwise you would've seen BPF look directly at Holmes before raising his studs up near his face, and, unless Holmes was feigning, he made contact.

The facts dear WC are on the camera for all to see, but of course, you missed that bit.

If the ref had sent BPF off, certain peoples opinions would be different.

I think attack is a bit strong, I questioned why you bought up the BPF incident, I didn't say you were wrong, yet you didn't mentioned the ones on our players, you obviously 'get it' and saw them.
Just wondering are you trying to be so fair minded that you actually lean the other way too much, or is it something else?

Then why try to deflect away from the incident I mentioned.

There were loads of bad tackles in game, my point was, BPF purposely raised his studs to Holmes face, the consequences could've been dire for both sides, and for Holmes himself.

The ref was a total dipstick, and another ref in same position would've sent BPF off. I don't and won't condone BPF's actions in that particular incident.

I'm not deflecting but adding as you clearly don't want to. The attack on Ayling was 100 times worse than what our keeper did, a leg breaking challenge that Luke fortunately was able to ride but I bet he felt it yesterday morning. The tackle on Pontus was an aggressive challenge that warranted a red, their player thought he was fouled by Pontus but nothing given, so he dished out his own punishment, red card all day long. Again I haven't said you are wrong on BPF, so not sure why you are trying to convince me.
There were lots of nasty tackles but the 2 I mentioned are the only ones that warranted reds, that's why they're the one's I mentioned, as you were talking of a red for Bailey. How Bryson didn't get a yellow in that game astounds me.

I have to agree, it was a needless thing to do by Peacock-Farrell, it could have cost us dearly. Having said that, if the match officials had been competent, the following would have occurred:

Leeds would have been awarded two penalties

Derby would have ended the game with nine men, and Leeds with ten.

I really don't understand why referees and linesmen are so incompetent.

I get it that officials have a hard job and can easily miss things at times but all the incidents we are talking about weren't even borderline, they were obvious easy decisions to give and tv replays showed that the ref was in a good position to see them. The lino for the first pen, couldn't have been better placed, ridiculous.

I think a lot of refs compound one bad decision with another, and then another, and so on. During the course of the game they may well realise that ten minutes earlier they'd made the wrong call and try to 'even things out', resulting in another wrong call. The first bad decision they make has a knock on effect on the rest of the game.

That challenge on Jansson right at the end, the ref probably thought fook it, I've made so many errors and there's only seconds left, may as well blow for time as I can't be bothered with it.

I've watched the incident with BPF a dozen times, he doesn't step forward, yes he raises his foot slightly but the ONLY way it is going to make contact with the attacker is IF the attacker is going to run into it. BPF does not come running forward, he jumps straight up, it looks more self defence, was it silly yes, did he risk seeing a red yes, did he kick their guy in the face, no, did their guy run into his raised foot, yes. Did their attacker have a mark on his face after rolling around like he had been shot no.

If BPF had kicked the guy in the face with raised studs he would have had cuts to his face, the foot was not being kicked out, there was no forward momentum hence why the guy had not facial damage, either that or he has leather for skin

Ristac has it spot on for me.

The point people are making LL is that you have your favourites and your pet hates, and defend/attack them at every opportunity. When Alioski got slated by everyone for diving a while back you were conspicuous with your lack of comment

On this occasion I happen to think you’re right to a certain degree. I’m not sure why bpf extended his leg, it certainly risked a red card/penalty. I’m guessing he thought the guy was coming in for a late hit... and it was kind of instinctive.

Where I think you’re going over the top here is, the risk of serious injury... the guy himself had just come in with a high boot in the previous challenge. Bpf's Studs were showing but he wasn’t lunging forward, there was no weight behind it. The guy’s momentum made him run into bpf, but he shouldn’t have been running into his studs to challenge for a ball he had no hope with in the first place. So the comment ‘Could have put Holmes out of the game for good or worse?’ Is just being sensationalist.

It wasn’t good but there were more dangerous tackles in this game as others have pointed out.

At it again?. I am not aware I have ever responded to you before. It seems to me that the only one who knows if an act is deliberate is the person who commited the act.
