I personally think our fan base is too hard on him. Don't get me wrong he turns the ball over way too much but he has been a big contributing factor in the games we have won over the last couple of years
I would rather see him on the team sheet than Joselu. He can be infuriating but he is probably one of our more skillful players and no one (except maybe Ben10) can argue that he is not value for money. And for DPP: 8 goals scored 5 assists 7 big chances created Don't argue we need better but think there are others need replacing before him.
He is not very good but he is a bargain at 1.5m. Obviously if you were a decent side pushing for continental football he probably wouldn't even make back up. For a side like us though he is a decent enough squad player. Difficult to say but perhaps if you put better players around him he would look better. Forwards in particular are a slave to service. You get **** all at ours.
Can anyone else think of any others that'll get into this list - Surely Tiote has to be in there - didn't pay much more than we did for Perez. Tiote Ba Sissoko
Not sure on the transfer fee we paid but Tony Sibs has to be up there for me as well along with Nobby (both times). Does £0 out and £35m in for Carroll count as well
Malcolm Allen - 500K from Millwall, absolute steal. If it wasn't for the injuries he'd have been really useful for us. Brian Kilcline 250K. That was a massive signing. Steve Guppy 150K. Although we never got the best of him he was still a bargain. I always thought Habib Beye was decent for 2m. Bernard on a free was good business. Obviously we got Bowyer and Kluivert on a free too. Ben Arfa was a snip at 5.75m really. Danny Simpson was an absolute bargain for 850K. Lovenkrands did a good job for a free. Mbabu would have been if Rafa had bloody kept him! Simpson really was ridiculous. To get a full back of that quality in this day and age for under 1m was stellar work from Hughton. He went on to win a PL FFS.
Pretty sure you can't include free transfers otherwise it would pretty much just be the best 100 Bosmans. Perchinho was stellar business. No but seriously Cabaye, Tiote and Sissoko were all bargainous and the first two gave us our best CM pairing in the past decade and all for peanuts.
