Here we go for the first of two consecutive games at home. The once mighty Coventry being the first of the two.

They have picked up league position wise as the season has gone on and currently are a lot higher up it than we are. However, they are one of a number of clubs with a fair old gap between themselves and the playoff places. I think that anyone in the second tier of the league at present can win or lose a game and it is hard to know which will happen on any given match day. Our form has picked up a fair bit recently so there should be no reason why we can't carry that on in this match. I am however still of the opinion that the old Argyle could still turn up for a match rather than the new one. I am not convinced we will continue with our winning form at home just yet.

Can we win this............yes we most certainly can. Will we win this one............I bleddy hope so.

Very slow start from Argyle. Not playing well through midfield and Ladapo winning nothing in the air.

Mini striker Chaplin and their left winger causing defence problems and Letheren forced into several serious saves.

Argyle finishing the half strongly with a good penalty shout for a trip on Carey ignored and Lameiras missing a sitter.

Same 11 came out for the second half but a completely different team. Immediately on the front foot with Ladapo brought more into the game.

The ref then infuriated the Devonport End by not giving either a corner or a penalty, not sure which from where I sat. Coventry went up to the other end where he promptly gave them a free kick to the derision of the crowd. The wall was lined up but as the ref blew to take the kick, whoever it was on Argyle's right of the wall, the left as Coventry looked at it, deserted his post and went to the middle of the goal. This left the post unguarded and the ball was curled in there. Shocking defensive discipline left Letheren no chance.

Argyle weren't to be denied though and ran out worthy winners on a much better 2nd half showing. Happy days!

Let me clear up two things to start with. First the Ref. There is a poster on pasoti who always without fail defend Referees no matter what. Argyle fans always have a moan about them and pick on this and that but this particular poster says this was a right decision or that was not wrong. However, the other day he came on saying he had just seen who the Ref was and he was worried because this bloke always bamboozles him with decisions. He could never quite get him and understand what he was doing. Well deep joy there then. Lo and behold today the bloke was actually spot on. The Ref was a complete pillock. Not consistant at all and some of his decisions were without any sort of explanation at all. The lino on the :Lyndhurst was the same scratchy arse bloke who has been here many times. You know what's coming.........he was his normal useless self but all to ready to play to the audience. It's about time somebody sorted the bloke out and retired him. We don't need him here anymore. The second thing is the Man of Match award. It has to be Letheren by an absolute country mile despite the contribution Lameiras made. Without our keeper Coventry would have been out of sight in the first 20 minutes and the saves he made were incredible.

Now down to the match itself. We were dreadful in the first 20 minutes or so but that shouldn't take it away from Coventry who looked leagues above us. They are probably the best side I have seen here this season so far. We just couldn't get started and how the score was still 0 - 0 after the first half ended I will never know. It might be unfair to call Argyle poor because Coventry were that good. Letheren as said above was tremendous. How he kept the ball out of the net I will never know. We maybe had a bit of a turn around for the last 10 minutes of the half but we never looked like we would win it. I had said to my group that we were going to get mullered today by the product on view.

We came out in the second half and looked a much better team. Chances came and went for both sides but eventually the Ref had to influence things. He turned down what looked like a stone wall Penalty for us at one end only to award a free kick at the other that was more than a little dubious. He did seem to pick on Songo all match. Anyway the free kick was taken and had it been a fair one then it would have been a great strike. Letheren had no chance. I did not think we would come back from that. But, this is the new Argyle. The lads began to turn it on and with every bit of justice going then clawed one back. No fluke because Lameiras was playing like the man he can be. Knocked it in with a decent strike and it was suddenly game on again. We pressed and pressed them and again justly we knocked in the second. Again it was Lameiras who scored and it was well taken. We were well worth our lead and there was no fluke about any of it. The Ref continued to be a prat but by then it was only what was expected from him. We held on having begun to sit further back and defend. 5 games ago we would have lost this one 3 or 4 nil. I have a bit of belief now with Argyle and not before time.

There was a great crowd there today who backed the lads to the hilt. Good turnout from Coventry as well and they only sang litterally when they were winning. This was probably the most enjoyable match this season so far. It had good football from both teams, good end to end stuff a lot of the time and for us the right result. I still think the old Argyle will turn up sometimes and I don't think we have turned a big corner yet but, we have at least started the engine and are pointing in the right direction. Very very good 3 points today.

Not this season PGF. We will take staying in league One this season I think. The top teams seem to be well set and a gap has opened already between them and the also rans.
