I have a job. I'm good at it.

If someone offered me a new one on 5 times the wages and a bigger/better/more prestigious firm in a nicer location how quickly would I say yes?

    Why is this any different?

What about if your current job offered you a big increase in wages and all you wanted was to stay and sign it, but your mate insisted that you leave and eventually wore you down until you did?

I'm fairly indifferent to Maja now and if anything would like him to do well for the sell on fee, but I've got no respect for his decision because he didn't make it, his agent did. One day his agent showed him a new vice he'd bought and Maja willingly went over and popped his balls into it.

I suppose we're all guessing to a degree.

I'd bet that the Bordeaux contract is a better one than the one we offered.

Agents are snakes, no doubt about it.

To an extent aye although combining statements from Ross and Donald they have said that Maja wanted to stay but wasn't allowed to by his agent and I believe them.

I imagine the Bordeaux contract is better but the one we offered sounded more than decent too, and was the difference enough to justify uprooting to another country and setting your development back by no longer getting meaningful game time for the foreseeable? Time will tell but as of now not for me.

Would love to see that mate but think it's the wrong move and he'll be moved on before even coming close to triggering those benefits

Think we are being too forgiving here.

I'm not being 'forgiving' Clocky, I'm more for forgetting, for someone that's had a relatively minute impact on S.A.F.C. . . . . Josh who ?

Once he started banging goals in he/his agent had probably always wanted to leave ££££££. Obviously he cant say that he wanted to leave around October/November because if he did he would have to wait till January to get a move. During this time he would have either risked being dropped or risk playing in front of a pissed off crowd. Either way this would have stunted his development and possibly would have had an effect on the quality of club that he would have ended up at, possibly ending up having to stop at an angry Sunderland. Instead he kept stringing us along, claiming that he wants to stay, getting goals and being a better player until the transfer window, since when he's scored more goals, become better developed and able to have a better pick of clubs. He has also been able to quickly leave out the back door without getting pelters by an angry mob. The whole scenario is completely understandable, he's used us for his own gains, done us up like a right kipper, but as a Sunderland supporter it still leaves a nasty taste in the mouth cos he dropped us right in the clarts.

    I doubt he 'wasn't allowed'.

I think more the case of his agent had a deal on the table and used it as a yard stick to offer Maja's services round the world - 'beat this and he'll sign for you'.

I think it's a bad move for him from a footballing perspective, but don't really blame him from a personal perspective.

Sorry, mate. That doesn't sound right, at all. His agent works for him, he doesn't own him.

We are currently in the play-offs in league one. We aren't premier league, now. Players will be looking at most championship as a better prospect than us right now. Maja is a natural goalscorer, I think he'll surprise folk and do well out there.

I think the opposite. I can't treat a teenager the way you lot are going on about him.

He's still just a raw kid who's wet behind the ears, it's understandable that he'll be easily played.

I've got a feeling he'll do alright, mate.

I need to speak you, bud. I need to sleep first, though. I never slept at all last night so as soon as I close up here, I'll be going home and getting my head down.

It doesn't sound right to me either but I believe that's how it was with Maja and probably a lot of young and impressionable players. Their agent knows where their payday is and if the player isn't keen then they'll talk them into it over time, some players will know their own mind and tell them to **** off, others won't.

I agree he may well be a success over there his finishing is excellent and his football brain isn't bad either so there's every chance. Not a clue who's ahead of him in the pecking order but he's not been put straight in.

He's only missed one game, hasn't he? I thought he wasn't singed in time for the first game and he missed the last game because of the rearranged fixture. I didn't know my own mind at 19 and I was easily influenced. He's a teenager, he's not going to know any better.

I think he'll be in the squad and he'll have the chance to show what he can do towards the end of the season. I don't think any 19 year old should expect to move to Bordeaux and to be starting straightaway.

It's sheer blind loyalty that we seem to be believing every detail that comes out of SD's mouth and everything is everybody else's fault. There's a couple things he's said now which has made me raise my eyebrows and question his story. Not that I'm going to make an issue of it when we are in a very good position. That's all that matters.

You might be right about Donald mate I am just assuming that everything he says is gospel, I guess I know that it probably isn't but I like the guy so I choose to believe him I suppose.

I think our difference of opinion stems from the fact that I rate him as a player, much, much higher than you do. Your defence of him is admirable but misplaced imo. He was no innocent victim being led astray here, it was not him who was left up the creek without a paddle. If it was not for SD pulling out all the stops in this window, we would have struggled big time. My only hope is that we succeed and get promotion in spite of his actions, and that he fails, and fails miserably to rub our noses in it any further.

That's incredible. You would rather Josh be a failure in his career, over our club making millions because he's successful?

I can't understand that way of thinking.

In spite of his actions you talk about... his actions have shot us up near the top of the table, without his goals we'd be sat outside the play-offs, looking in. We should be very grateful, to Josh.

As for you saying you rate him as a much, much higher player, than me. I have no idea why you would think that, I'm on here predicting that he will be successful, in France, when everybody else is doubting him.
