    Wednesday 13th January 8pm
    Champions League Round of 16
    Wembley Stadium

Another tight win in the league keeps us in contention and with a decent gap those behind us.
It's a ten day gap after this game too, so it's a good position to be in as we head back into European competition.
Our old friends Dortmund stand between us and a place in the quarter-finals.
Can Son continue beekeeping or will the high-flying Germans prevail?

We may have struggled to work our way through a tough group, but our opponents made it look fairly easy.
They're flying this season and their qualification to this round was no exception to that form.
Wins against Club Brugge and Monaco took them into the double-header against Atletico Madrid.
The Spaniards had also won their first two games and it looked a tall task for Dortmund.
It was anything but. Simeone's men were swept away in emphatic style in a stunning result:

The reverse fixture saw some pride restored in Madrid and put the group back into contention.
The 2-0 loss is Dortmund's biggest of the campaign and they've only suffered one other defeat:

Both sides went on to beat Monaco again and draw with Brugge, leaving Dortmund as group winners on head-to-head.
The Belgians dropped into the Europa League to face Salzburg, while Thierry Henry's Monaco crashed out.

Dortmund's domestic form has been equally impressive.
They've built up a five point gap at the top of the Bundesliga and have only two blips on their record.
The first is that other loss, which came away to newly promoted Dusseldorf, who were in the relegation zone.
The other is their elimination from the cup on penalties to Bremen.
They've drawn their last two though, for anyone looking for a crumb of comfort.

Everyone will remember our meetings from the last campaign, as we won both games and the group.
Some signings and loans have transformed them into a far more effective outfit, though.
Axel Witsel returned to Europe from China to bolster their midfield and has fitted in seemlessly.
Thomas Delaney joining from Bremen has also added to that area.
Jadon Sancho and Paco Alcacer transformed their attack and have grabbed a lot of headlines, too.

Alli, Davies and Kane are still out, but Dier and Lamela are available again.
Rose won't be fit enough to start and Janssen isn't in the Champions League squad.
Reus, Piszczek, Alcacer and Weigl are unavailable for Dortmund. Neither side has any suspensions.

Lineups for each side's last league game:

Spurs: Lloris; Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose; Winks, Sissoko, Skipp, Eriksen; Son, Llorente.
Subs: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Foyth, Wanyama, Moura.
    League form: WLWWWW.

Dortmund: Burki; Piszczek, Weigl, Diallo, Hakimi; Dahoud, Witsel; Sancho, Philipp, Guerreiro; Gotze.
Subs: Hitz, Toprak, Schmelzer, Pulisic, Wolf, Bruun Larsen, Alcacer.
    League form: LWWWDD.

Referee: Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz (SPA). Had lots of Man City games, but none of ours.

    TV: BT Sport 2.

How would you line up for this one and who would you pick in the contested fullback positions?
Should we start with a back three or a back four? Four or five in the midfield?
Should Llorente start this one, where his experience could be key or would you prefer a more mobile choice?

Left back is gonna be a real problem. Jan was great there vs Newcastle but against someone with the speed of Sancho, it could be a recipe for disaster, KWP isn’t great on the left either.

Sancho nearly missed the match not due to injury, but because he showed up at the airport without his passport

They could wait for him. Dortmund have their own jet. Quite impressive. Painted yellow and black in the teams colours.

    Lloris
    Trippier, Sanchez, Toby, Jan
    Moura, Sissoko, Dier, Son
    Eriksen
    Llorente

Of course this won't be the line up but it is what I think should be.
Trippier and Jan won't need to come forward so much as Moura and Son will give us the width.
Eriksen will have a free role and possibly switch occasionally with Son when the latter goes into the middle.
Dier can cover for the defenders if they venture too far forward.

You mean to say they travel on a giant wasp?

I'd say that was incentive to beat them...

Against top opposition like Dortmund, I think we’ll struggle to create opportunities with the available options we have.

If we can prevent them from scoring tonight, I’ll feel more confident going into the away leg, as it’s likely we will have Kane back. But that’s gonna be difficult to say the least.

Tough tough ask tonight. Let’s hope Sonny has a blinder. He’s been great against them in the past. COYS

Sonny and Eriksen are dangerous against any side. A scratchy 1 0 will be excellent.

We have to try to go for a win..their Achilles heel is the defence...that's what needs attacking. If we are relying on Kane to come back to rescue us in the 2nd leg and we haven't even kicked a ball yet then I'd rather we just go out and concentrate on the league. Dortmund might get their injured players back for the 2nd leg too.

Get Moussa to double up on Sancho because let's be honest...Trippier is primed for a gaping tonight and let's try to get a few.

I still excited by big European nights even at Wembley, 2nd visit this week and a similar score will do nicely, though we could do without the away goal

Hope Dortmund don't play for the draw. Spurs do struggle when teams park the bus.

I'm wondering whether poch might go defensive and play both Dier and Wanyama.

I personally wouldn't start with Moura. Bring him on when they tire.

Where can I look for streams now that reddit soccerstreams (and the failed attempt to restart it) are no longer available? I particularly like the acestreams but I haven't seen them listed anywhere but on reddit. Thanks in advance.
