Add Hayden to that list and all. Thought those two were magnificent again although anyone could have been MOTM tonight.

He was always far too intelligent a footballer when he first arrived and now with Almiron, a better midfield and a striker whom he is forming a good partnership with will mean he re-starts his progression as a footballer.

Apart from Dummett, who has been here longer?

    P.S. who's hairs worse?

Needs replaced in the summer with a better player. Good back up for Almiron and the new lad though. Hayden did well too. Lets not kid ourselves though, they are still average to poor PL players. Longstaff is just making them all look good.

Is this the guy even the Spanish manager said he may call up?

He stagnated thanks to lack of investment and has turned in to a grafter.

If all goes well I would hope that he is Almiron's partner (we still need another one and scrap altogether the idea of ****ty wingers) and he will start to improve

Positions we need for the first team starting 11 (not in any particular order though striker has to be our top priority)

    1) RB
    2) LB
    3) CM partner for Longstaff
    4) Striker

I like him, he works hard. Still a complete diving fanny of course, but he is half decent. We should be looking for better though. You like him which is fair enough but I don't think he would get in that many PL sides if I'm being honest. I'd keep him because he is better than the treatment he gets off some of our fans. I would agree we've done his career no favours. In his most important development years, we've gave him ****hawks to play with. Mind he still hasn't made a Spain squad so its not really a badge of honour. Geoff Thomas actually made an England squad. And Iago Aspas makes the Spanish squad and he was ****e in England.

Well yes he will need replacing if we continue to invest at some point but he is one of the last that needs bumping out.

Diame, Ki, Shelvey (just cos I hate the twat), Manquillo, Dummett, Yedlin, Ritchie, Atsu and Joselu would all be out of the door before Ayoze.

In the mafia? Morelike he's got kidnapped by the mafia and and then been tortured by being held upside down in a barrel of engine oil and grease.

But Dummet's is probably worse, in that he's tried to imitate Ageuro's (already ****) hair cut, and they've got the colours wrong and turned him into an 80 year old grandad.

Ritchie and Dummett would be way ahead of Ayoze on my list, I just don't get the stick Dummett receives. He's a terrific defender. Already proven himself to be PL quality and along with Longstaff helps keep a nucleus of homegrown. Him and Ritchie have been two of our most consistent performers. When you go to the games you realise what Ritchie gives. Its all very well picking up what we do from TV, but what you don't see is all the off the ball stuff. The camera just follows the ball. I remember watching Hernan Crespo when he came here with Chelsea. What a ****ing player he was. He had everything. Obviously we all saw the finishing and heading ability. But then you watch the runs he makes off the ball, the cajoling of other players, the runs he would make to make space for others. I just remember thinking "****ing hell, he is the complete centre forward". Ritchie is like that. Its why the fans love him so much and are so disappointed whenever he is substituted. They see all the selfless running and cajoling of players.

Perez certainly cannot claim to have performed as consistently as Dummett and Ritchie over the last few years. With Perez you still get the impression there is 20% left in the tank. He's 24 but I think there is untapped potential. The first thing he needs to do is stop throwing himself to the floor, and then concentrate on not giving the ball away. It is a murderous trait to have in the PL. Dummett himself had this problem when he broke through. He has corrected it by simplifying his game. Krul on the other hand was unable to change. That is the challenge for Perez in my opinion, can he lift his game so that he consistently gives 6 or 7 out of 10 at the very least.

Manquillo needs to be replaced ASAP and that needs to be a first choice right back. That would really improve us. Yedlin is ok back up. On the left we need a left wing back because of how we play. Dummett is ok there, Ritchie does a great job there to be honest. Neither is a natural though at a pure left wing back role. Where's Haidara when you need him eh.

Atsu, Joselu obviously need to go and be replaced. They are not PL footballers at all. Diame has done well considering his ability but he is nearer the end of his career. Shelvey will struggle now. In Longstaff you have all the same characteristics, but he has an engine which would be the envy of most PL footballers, he is consistent and he also doesn't have a petulant streak which hurts the team. I can't see Jonjo being happy at playing 2nd fiddle but I can't see how he displaces Longstaff. That lads engine and quality on the ball will take him right to the very top. I don't think he'll be here that long to be honest, he's that good. Ki is good back up in my opinion. The problem now comes in finding a partner for Longstaff, I assume Hayden still wants out. We need to find someone with similar style to Hayden but just much better. Hayden has the same issue as Perez, he gives up possession too easily. He has improved of late though and does deserve credit.

Of course the key thing is you said if we continue to invest. I think we are all wise enough now to think that is unlikely.

The reason why I highlighted Ritchie/Dummett leaving before Ayoze is more down to the cost of an upgrade is far more with Ayoze then i) Ritchie, who unless he is our new left wing back (not a major issue with that really at this stage), then to me he is dispensible and ii) I wouldn't get rid of Dummett as he is a great back up and in two positions but again would still go before Ayoze if I was picking which to go first as we have more players who could do his job then Ayozes.

    The rest I agree with!
