Gillingham changed it at half time and we can't defend. Looking very ominous. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S9
3-1...Hanlan...90+1....all over and relegation beckons....Derek Adams your time is up...even if we stay up.
That is a bad result today....no defence when it matters....Adams isn't the right man anymore....we needed goals and on comes Canavan and Taylor with only 15 minutes to go....only 2 pts above the drop...and high flying Barnsley next....can it get anymore depressing.
Was Sawyer napping today think he had one mention. On Mon. a type of game they would win in the past...but with this lot lol!
My son bought the viewing of this and invited me to watch with him. For 50 minutes we were comfortable with Gillingham not looking like they could get a goal in a month of Sundays. Then in a 10 minute spell we fell apart and after that never looked remotely like getting anything back. What was most notable was that once we had gone behind Adams did absolutely nothing to change anything. There was 25 minutes to go and we just carried on as if nothing had happened. I'd ask a question at this stage of the season. What difference does it really make if you lose 5 - 1 or 2 - 1? None in my view because it is the win you need. Any chance a second striker might be employed? Not a fecking chance with Adams and he waited until the game was nearly over before he brought on Taylor. I will say that after watching this today then we SHOULD be worried because I now cannot see us beating anyone else. Thanks Adams now bugger off.
Giving Derek Adams a 5 year contract has had its good and bad points....If some bigger club wanted him then they would have to pay his contract off.....but if he failed to move the club on then it would nearly be impossible to sack him (financially)... unless he felt that it was in the best interest of PAFC and himself that a parting of the ways was in his interest as well....he has tried his best with limited funds... and this season has proved that he cannot bring anymore success to the club without serious financial input... and with the way he prefers to play. Ryan Taylor was a great asset last season and played his part in their unsuccessful push for the play-offs....this season he was injured and since he came back he has been kept out by Ladapo....Taylor has set a new record for the number of times he has come on for a few desperate minutes as a sub this season. When things are going wrong Taylor is generally the only experienced attacking sub on the bench... and giving him only five or ten minutes to turn the tide I feel is quite insulting really.....yesterday the game was crying out for Argyle to make a change after Gillingham had brought two subs on who turned the game on its head and still with 30 minutes to go Adams did nothing... and to be honest the team had no clue or real direction....when the defence folds like that Argyle seems resigned to the inevitable defeat.......how many times has it happened...and also how many times has a team come back and got a draw when it was literally sealed and dusted for Argyle. My worry is that the Directors are not really football men/women and are relying on Adams for that sought of input....and when Adams becomes the problem they have no solution......if we stay up or go down I can see nothing under Adams but a major reshuffle of playing staff and much the same end result as this season....players who have lost their way because of injury or who have proven that they are dispensable by their previous club. The signs in hindsight last summer were staring us in the face....when during pre-season we played only one friendly against a league team (Div 2 as well)....Yeovil and they ripped us apart with 5 goals.....may I remind you that at the moment Yeovil are fighting for their league survival at the bottom of Div 2. Thank you Mr Adams (and your training staff) for the ride up to this season...but I feel for our sanity....plus the clubs best interest....and also your own future the time has arrived to say goodbye....but of course we have amateur directors in charge who cannot see past the Grandstand refurbishment....not a good time to celebrate Mayflower 400 next year with possible Div 2 football.
