We´re hopefully learning but it´s the hard way As one more mistake gifts a goal, We can´t fault the endeavour there in our play But it´s tough playing the catch-up role If they get a lead, up here in this tier Away teams especially, are tough, To break down, and the pressure we bring to bear May not always just be enough We saw it today how once they went ahead How content they were to defend, Happy to sit back and break out instead When a chance came up at our end And although we huffed and we puffed a good deal The breaks didn´t just go our way, Half-chances we had, but clear cut, to steal A point or more, weren´t there today The best fell to Morison late second half But his header whistled past then, But Declan Rudd did at least have the last laugh As he saved one more dubious pen We could and maybe should have had one ourselves When Vaughan ended bloodied and sore, But Halsey nor his assistants could just tell That he took an elbow to the jaw So all in all, one more step in the process Of learning our trade in this flight, Mistakes will get punished, which we must address Without them we´ll soon be alright. OTBC Chins up all, have a good week, we´re off again Saturday Yours,
Hi RBF, wise words, my friend, and, hopefully, we will learn our lesson in time! Heads up, eyes down, shoulders to the wheel, I still think we'll be ok in this league given time and the occasional rub of the green!
Not only poetic but also correct. Tell your mates on the match thread that they don't know what they are on about. I like the sensitive and intelligent type. That's rare in a football fan, most blokes I meet on matchday are all macho and a bit thick.
I just checked Liz and can t see where anyone was out of line with you, saying you should ve won 4 zero will get a negative response.... You are the only Baggie we had on our boards, good luck with the rest of the season
I think that's a bit uncalled for Liz. As far as I can recall not a single Budgie gave you a hard or bad time on the match thread and most if not all of us were intelligent enough to acknowledge we got what we deserved on the day due to our fear of shooting on target (apparently we had 5 shots on target but I am struggling to recall any one them ). Although some of your players were happy to go to ground when the opportunity presented itself, at no point did anyone pinpoint that as a reason why we lost. Nor did anyone suggest the referee cheated us out of points although the 'incident' at the end of the game is highly debatable. All things considered, and taking in to account the shocking decisions that have gone against us in previous games, I think we maintained a pretty high level of dignity and integrity under the circumstances while watching the same naff decisions going against us.
