Really looking forward to this one - we have never had the chance to relegate our old rivals before. We should play two upfront (Tyrese and Fejiri) as Walsall will have to go for it and we can catch them on the break with these two lads pace and finishing ability. Ricketts must not listen to those voices calling for a sentimental last outing for Sadler - he has not featured for ages and the manager should field what he thinks is his strongest team. Hoping for a full house and a great atmosphere - our home form has been poor of late and it is vital we end the season on a high note with a win.

i understand your view about Saddler i am sentimental so i hope he at least comes on as a sub towards the end of hte game , he is out of contract and i dont see him been offered anything.
it would be great to finish such a poor season with a win and beat Walsall , they are our boggy team and we have suffered at there hands on a number of occasions ,.

Two up front at the start in the form of Okenabirhie and Coleman would be great to see. Okenabirhie can also play on left forward wing so a 433 could be a goer too.

I dread to think about the quality of police that will be present alongside the equivalent amount of idiots who will rally to the pitch edge, hopefully we won't see any pitch invasions as it will spoil the evening. I have a feeling they might stop the away fans leaving straight away at the end.

I suspect there will be some trouble on Saturday, especially with the later kick-off. Lets hope it can be contained quickly so the vast majority of fans can focus on the football.

after recently getting fined for a fan getting on the pitch, you would expect the club to bring in extra stewards and there will bound to be high high police presence, you would imaging they will hold back the walsall fans in the ground after the match
a win and sending them down after so many disappointing performances against them would be poetic
i hope ricketts fields an attacking line up, Walsall have to win and hope other teams lose. i dont see sounthend beating Sunderland, they will need a win as southend have a better goal difference.

on display today we saw two poor teams ; whilst town started brightly and edged the first half, we really lacked a cutting edge in the last third, a waterfall header and a save was the nearest town got to scoring, Docherty was a live wire, grant had a good game cutting out the threat. whilst Campbell occupied defenders and had real pace , his first touch was often poor. the service to both forwards was not the best
i dont get fans who pay to come and then get escorted out by police after 18 minutes.

a few flares got thrown on the pitch which the stewards quickly delt with.
as with far too many games town did not turn up for the whole game and today it was the second half. Walsall had numerous corners ,town defended resolutely. sorry that Waterfall was injured but nice to see Saddler come on for his last game in a town shirt.

Mitchell kicking was poor and did not carry much distance, a number went out of play, his punching was weak and ineffectual and often created more pressure on the defence , he also caused panic by spilling the ball twice.

the normally rock solid Williams had a mare today . town created a lot of there problems in the second by having virtually no game management. they needed to take the sting out of the game by retaining possession and slowing it down, instead we lost possession from poor distribution and struggled to keep hold of the ball , in a scr@ppy second half.

Whilst i understand they did not wont concede a goal, having every one behind the ball at corners and not leaving anyone up the pitch limited our ability to counter attack. we seemed content to play for a draw. laurent shot on target was one of the few chances town created in a poor second half performance.
the only bright spot was sending Walsall down , in a game to forget unfortunately one of many this season.
let us be grateful our league one survival did not depend on the result.

A bit disappointing we did not beat them but at least we did not lose. We probably shaded it overall (more shots and more shots on target) but again we struggled in the second half when they pushed up on us. We need to try and keep hold of our better players and get in a better keeper and a centre forward who can hold the ball up ( would Cook or Ladapo come to us now their teams have been relegated?). All in all a very underwhelming end to a very underwhelming season.

we had no quality in the last third, according to ricketts the team were exhausted in the second half.when they did not turn up( how many games have we seen this season were town have not turned for half the game, without docherty town would had very little energy, whilst Campbells pace unsettled the defence he had a poor game. mitchell was terrible in the second half .
someone near me was complaining that the crowd were not singing any town songs ,i did not see anything to sing about , the only bright note was we managed to not to lose.
i dont rate ricketts he has managed by the skin of his teeth to keep us up and have very little faith that he will assemble a decent team next season. but by keeping us up i dont see him been sacked.. let us hope it will be better than this season.

Midfield seemed a little over run in the second half the strikers rarely got onto the ball and fluffed 8t if they did, the one that sticks in my mind is the second half ball played from the east across goal and it didn't have enough power for the other player to get on to it, and the keeper just collected it up.

Their no.9 looked a real threat second half.

Won't miss Payne, but will miss Docherty next season.

Apparently Waterfall had a back injury - we struggled a lot more against Cook in the second half without him. Wonder if we could afford Cook - to score 18 goals in a poor side is a great return and Fejiri needs a hold-up man to play off. Not surprised Sadler is going - he has been poor this year but a good servant to the club overall. I would like to keep Grant - he reads the game so well. Bolton to me is a back three player rather than a wing back - he has had a mixed season so I would be surprised if there is a lot of outside interest in him. I too am not convince by Ricketts but I think most fans are prepared to give him his chance after a few signings and a pre- season. However, if we start next season poorly the pressure will be on him very quickly.

Agree on Grant, would love to see him stay on. As he has a great footballing brain on him and as a bonus is skilled at getting free kicks!

Interesting comment by Mark Elliot however:

    we need
.a new kepper Arnold be number 2
With Sears out till Christmas and with Bolton possibly leaving need a right back, two centre backs
    a replacement for grant
    replacement for Docherty
    two forwards
    that is a minimum

trim the squad is fine in theory but just a few key long term injuries and then what do we do.

i have now!!!considering what was happening under Askey , with allegations of players doing there own training after training sessions, Angol's por attitude and arriving late for training plus the allegations that Grant and Docherty had a fight and that was why they were benched .it is not a suprise.

in a few threads i mentioned that town looked more like a group of individuals than a team, it does not sound like they were a bunch of happy campers.

Agree we do need the squad pulling together but the odd dispute (even physical) sometimes happens in training in the most successful squads.
