False reporting should be illegal. This information is for civil planning purposes and health and safety not just some publicity. If you can't count the number of people actually in your stadium have it shut down until you are capable of doing so.

I said at the time that I wouldn't be surprised if their owners bought a loaf of season tickets; technically a sell out but there are empty seats.

They would still have the actual attendance number in case an evacuation was needed, hence why you can get actual attendances through a FOI request.

true, but it depends which set of stats they choose to use, you are just telling it from a safety and logical stand point and not a blowing your own trumpet type way.

i don't know how they tell these figures personally, as we see them say sell out and you see empty seats, but is that shown in attendance figures?

    https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...smashing-of-watford-proves-football-is-broken

Manchester City’s sky blue smashing of Watford proves football is broken

    Goals! Goals! Goals! Trophies everywhere.

...this felt so unlike a Cup final. In terms of competitiveness, you may as well have placed a yellow and black blancmange in the middle of pitch and smashed it with a sky blue oar.

This is City’s problem. They’re too good – and that has brought to the surface concerns about their ownership and financing that perhaps should have been more prominent earlier.

But Saturday was miserable, the traditional showpiece of the English season reduced to a grim parade, devoid of any drama, there to satisfy the propaganda wing of a faraway regime. Perhaps some people enjoy watching eviscerations like this: Romans, after all, flocked to the Colosseum for fixtures between Lions and Christians that were only marginally less one-sided than this. But even City fans didn’t seem particularly enthused, grumbling on the underground about a fifth trip to Wembley this season and cheering goals with the weary satisfaction that used to be reserved for a top-flight team battering a minnow in the third round.

There comes a time at which you have to step back and say this is pointless.

Greed has won, big finance has won.

Of course all these people were fine with City romping to the title and 100 points last year, also fine with them beating us to the title despite a points tally that would have won us the title any other year (bar last season) cause we made it fair game.
It was also ok to hate PSG, cause they're not British, despite them being exactly the same as City.

Destroy sorry Watford, a decent but average Premier league team, and suddenly everybody has woken up to the idea that City are not good for the game.
Well can't say they weren't warned, but of course it was all jealously until now right?

Also says this could be a rational reason for a super league. In all the top 5 European leagues the champions retained the title and in most there was little competition. Many of the other clubs just make the numbers. Even in our league it is a major surprise if a top 6 team doesn't win.

How long will people enjoy the likes of city smashing other teams to smithereens? After the awe will come boredom.

Pep will leave within 2 years, sooner if Barca come calling. They’ll drop 10% on his departure.

    That came yesterday.

Rumours that viewing figures fell during the match yesterday cause there was no competition.

People can see the future, City winning everything cause teams can't keep up.

He was in charge of Swedish side and got them to QF in europa and apparently had Swansea playing some decent football this year despite having no money to spend.

Apparebtly its the style that ashworth (new Brighton technical director) has been really impressed by

    course it was

last year it was just Utd missing out not that it was a title race.
it was great for everyone to see Chelsea done... especially their stupid keeper.
it was brilliant for all the bitters to see us 2nd.

but my god.. beat someone 6-0 in the final and you are the worst.

nothing about these.guys sticking the boot into Burton 9-0 in league cup.. how dare little Burton expect anything else.

It's taken them this long to realise it?

Would it be any different if Livpl had won the league, been in the CL final and smashed Watford 6-0 yesterday?

Yeh sure the spending is what makes the win an easy target for criticism, but what difference would it make in terms of there being a lack of competition if another club had done it without the same spending. We have a club that's ahead of everyone else domestically, it happens.

Liverpool to face Manchester City in 2019 Community Shield

Liverpool will contest the 2019 Community Shield against Manchester City.

City’s success in both Saturday’s FA Cup final and the Premier League means the Reds, as runners-up in the top flight, are set to feature in the annual curtain-raiser at the beginning of the next campaign.

It will represent the club’s first participation in the one-off fixture since 2006, when Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Full fixture and ticket details will be announced on Liverpoolfc.com in due course.
