Maybe it´s not quite gone to plan And although to a point, Superman, I agree with your fears Now´s no time for tears We´ve just got to show them we can For us who´ve just come up, the art Is catching those with a head start, It will take some time And won´t help to whine When our own mistakes tear us apart We´ve not had the rub of the green I agree, but sometimes luck is seen, There where it is due And we are in the queue So it may yet smile on our team We´ve been architects of our fall Though, in three of the four games in all, And this lot aren´t slow To punish, and show That it´s tough, when your back´s to the wall We need to make sure the mistakes We make, don´t cause so much heartache, For make them, we will Like the rest who fill This league, but ours keep us awake I looked at the table today And as this thread title does say, We´re in 17th place And still winning the race To be Premier League still, come May. lovely stuff as usual rbf, and thanks for the mention! still stand by what i said yesterday - i don't like the league. doesn't mean i don't want us in it as its so important for the club and its future but some of the things i've seen so far are enough to make me rapidly fall out of love with the game. i hope things improve over the coming months, with or without us making the grade...
And as I said Super, I do follow you a lot of the way, and I don´t particularly like the ´win at all costs´ attitude either, but it was to be expected slightly. And after two years of unbridled success and euphoria, we also ought to have expected that we would come to a slight slowing down at some point, it´s just how we tackle it, that will prove how we do this year.
Such wise words sir, we all said upon learning of our 2nd promotion, that we would just enjoy the ride and see what happened! Easy to say, but now we're here, is it so wrong to ask for the luck to even out? I'm still enjoying the ride, though, and proud to observe that for much of the time, we've shown ourselves to be deserving of this 'chance at the big time!' IPLWT OTBC!!!
i think everyone accepted that a slow-down was inevitable! i just want to see some flippin' football played!!!
dave - luck does have a tendency to even itself out, so I´m quite content to wait patiently for that to happen, preferably during our last 5 or 6 games of the season, where I think we could well do with some.
Good piece RBF, i hope Supers wasn t actually crying? He is just a very passionate city fan that is not happy at what he is seeing... We need to stick together during these times or we become no better than the binners
