Jack Stephens and Sam Gallagher, both of Southampton but originally Argyle youth players, are rumoured to be the subject of big money bids from Aston Villa. It's all so rumoured we would get a cut of the order of low millions.........

They reckon Stephens is on £48,000....so it would need a Premier club to be able to afford him surely.

What league do you think Villa are in then Plym? They won the play off and if you look at signings already they have already splashed a fair bit of cash.

They've yet to have the lorry loads of Sky money delivered by Fork-Lift sensible.....£48,000 per week for a player that's out of favour and maybe not be a first choice player.....unless he's willing to take a pay cut.....which would give most of their agents an heart attack.

Real Madrid can't off-load Gareth Bale because no Club wants the burden of his obscene wages.

As far as I know Villa are still on parachute payments for the relegation previously so they already have some sky buckets of cash anyway.

I watched both of those qualify for the semi's. The matches were poor and I commented at the time that I wished England could have had either on in their part of the draw. They are far better than both of these teams by a country mile. I didn't bother tonight because I expected rubbish to be honest. Seems it was a good call.

Once again the internet 'facts' are somewhat distant from the truth - I suspect medium 6 figures is closer than low millions, though until any deal is done we wont be getting a penny!

I think the higher figure included Ben Purrington leaving Rotherham for Charlton, although no doubt that still doesn't make up the £2m-ish that was being touted.

New rumour though: Plymouth Argyle 2019-20 wallets. I was thinking of buying one for Sensible but he still has his 1996-97 one, unused.

I don't think we will get anything for Ben- from memory we already received 150-300K for him and I doubt Charlton will have paid more than that. The sell on fee is only ever a % of the fee in excess of monies already received.

Never mind a new wallet I think I need a lie down. For the first time in years I went to the Barbican this evening with daughter and son-in-law for a Cap'n Jaspers and a couple of drinks. Went into one place and a pint of larger was £4.35.................I nearly passed out. I said to the bar person I only wanted to drink out of the glass not keep it Bleddy £4.35 though..............the last time I was down there that was the cost of a whole round. I remember it very well because they all told me.
