Too soon? As a great man once said “draw a line under it and move on” as quickly as possible I say. This is why we are going to beat Liverpool 1-0: Form: Liverpool could only score in the first half on Friday and our defence was impregnable in the first half. Liverpool conceded in the second half against Norwich. We weren’t well. See below. Fitness: Our captain and most influential player was taken ill on the bus. He was sitting closest to Angus, Jack and Jannik who only started to show symptoms of ****ting themselves in the 63rd minute. They’re all ok now (although Jack may pull a sickie after reading on here that yet again everything is his fault) Liverpool are going to Turkey to play Chelsea in a pointless game on Wednesday in ridiculously hot conditions and a Southampton firm owned by Pierre’s brother are doing the catering. Brexit: Boris Johnson has paid 100M to each Premiership team to agree that only British players can score more than 1 goal in a game. Some people (ok everyone) think Boris is a complete twat but after only 1 week the top 4 goal-scorers are British. No deal next Boris! He also enshrined in law that the team with the most British players must be allowed to equalize through Billy Sharp. Anyway Saints have 3 British strikers, Liverpool don’t have any. (mind you, Jurgen was heard asking his staff this week if they could get Danny back and if anyone still had Lallana’s telephone number but they can’t and they didn’t) New players: Kev will definitely be playing. British / Austrian and the only player Ralph has recruited (and he’ll score the only goal in the 89th minute) for us!
I desperately need something like a total power failure for this one so I can enjoy the day... Erm... but, you know, I am like totally optimistic.
While I'm not terribly fond of our back three, this is probably the game for it. Liverpool's narrow front three can overwhelming two CBs if they aren't very good, and, well... But drop one of Vestergaard or Stephens for Yoshida. Vestergaard's too slow of foot, Stephens too slow of thought.
Was thinking about going to this one but not at 50 quid for a seat behind the goal. You can **** right off with that Saints. Hopefully Bournemouth isn't an 'A*' as I wouldn't mind going to that on the Friday night.
This one will be a tough watch. I just hope after their midweek adventure we might at least keep it competitive.
Actually, this is probably the best time we could hope for to play them. Alisson injured, after a midweek game, early in the season.
I know that’s a joke, but raises an ‘interesting’ point. With VAR will we ever see Manes hat trick for us beaten? Maybe they’ll have to be separate records post VAR.
One thing you can pretty much guarantee. This will not be a 0-0 draw. Personally I just want to see a reaction to last weeks defeat. The same team are capable of so much more! Add a Kevin and a Shane into the mix we are capable of snatching the points.
I think Saturdays ploy to appear awful and a walk over has worked perfectly. Now when liverpool turn up they will be super complacent and will never expect it when hasenhuttl unveils the squads true power. Easy 3 - 0 win thanks to Ralph's cunning plan to prioritise this title race six pointer.
champions of europe dont count for ****e down at st marys southampton fortress - we have only lost 70 % of home games over the last 2 years stick that in your european cup
