Trump is a mega racist, He proves it every day. The guy is a bigger liar than our own Dopey Boris and that is saying something. They both are very dangerous leaders that won't be there much longer...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Trump win again next year. I hope I'm wrong but I fear I'm not

    You may be right.

Translation for the non Betfair-savvy. The Democratic Party is favourite but only by a hair's breadth.

If Trump gets his war in Iran, he'll storm it.

A lot of the trouble is your mind set seems to guide you when reading reports of Racism comments. A lot of things considered racism today were not considered so a few years ago. I am not trying to defend our thinking then just that certainly in my own circles and that of my friends a lot of cross nationalities I might add. The things we used to say to each other would be considered racist and we would probably be shot at dawn for saying today. Neither African, Asian or Indian would take offence and would give back as good as they got. They could tell when someone was meaning their jibe and would deal with it accordingly. (Incidentally I was best man to an Indian wedding and an African. I also would have been to an Asian Wedding but sadly he was killed the day before his wedding) I therefore can understand why some people see and hear things that do not consider racist. It confuses the heck out of all generations and not just we oldies...........

Nothing at all confusing about Trump's record as detailed by several on here. There's difference between public figures and their comments on whatever social media and the private off record conversations you, me or anyone may have with a racially diverse group.

May be not confusing in your eyes.........If a public figure issues a statement and says something considered racist, something you say often in private, is it not just as racist? Should we not say these things anymore because someone else may hear it and accuse you of being racist??

It's all about context and situations being dealt with in a sensitive manner. Take care about what you say that may be overheard and misunderstood. Don't over think it, good sense and manners is all it takes to live in our multicultural world. Enjoy it.

I don’t think Trump wants a war, though John Bolton almost certainly does.

Trump, I suspect, knows it’s the sons and daughters of his blue collar supporters who come home in bodybags when there’s a war, and they had enough of that for almost a decade and a half.

He obviously doesn’t mind how much damage he does with a trade war though.

A lot of difference between the racist language of yesteryear and the racist language of today is that in yesteryear the racist language was endemic. People simply did now consider that their very words were racist. They almost certainly didn't consider anything at all, regards it. And there were times when it was difficult to know what had become the acceptable word or phrase, such was the speed at which the attitudes were starting to change. These changing attitudes swept through every corner of lazy disrespect of cultures and peoples. Which was why one of the buzzwords became 'Respect'. It often dominated protesters placards. That's really all that people wanted and want.
These days, people are racist even though there is plenty of information about what is and what is not acceptable. And how do we know what is and what is not acceptable? Just turn it upon oneself, and be truthful to oneself. Would the words that are aimed at different people of colour, culture, minorities really acceptable, especially if they were turned upon you? If it is not acceptable for you, then it is not acceptable for anyone.
The lazy, ignorant racism of yesteryear is no longer a good enough excuse. People are now racist by choice. And if you are confused, look it up. The answer is very quickly under your fingertips.

Betfair's odds are remarkably generous to Trump, when considering his position and the current state of the economy. It's incredibly unlikely to get better, but with current polling he's probably a coin flip at best as it stands; if it gets worse, as seems an increasing possibility, he'll have a great deal of difficulty winning. It's the only issue where he does well, even though it really doesn't owe to any action on his part.

No, this is not what is happening at all. Trump isn't just telling off-color jokes to the wrong audience. When he calls immigrants rapists and invaders and KKK members "good people" it's not a joke, and nor is taken that way by anyone. People know exactly what he means, and in fact that is exactly why they are voting for him. Same with UKIP, etc.

It's racist, and it would have been racist 25 years ago, 30 years ago, 100 years ago. The only reason it wouldn't have been as big a deal back then is because everyone was racist.

Interesting to read that the post-mortem, for Epstein, is showing damage more associated with strangulation than suicide by hanging.
It would be interesting to read his diaries, to see who has most to be concerned about.
