Where do you fly from ? When we landed at Toronto Airport some few years ago, there was only one remaining taxi outside, a white stretch limo. We got into it, and the driver was a tall muscular guy of about 6' 5" in a black suit wearing large sunglasses looking like someone from the Mafia ! When he spoke to us, we realised he was Russian, and wondered if we had done the right thing getting into his car as he looked and sounded so menacing ! He asked where we were from, so I said the Isle of Wight. He said where is that ? When I answered near Portsmouth, he started smiling and said ahh, Portsmouth Football Club, that's owned by my friend Sascha Gaydamak (he was also Russian and had just bought PFC). From then on, he was lovely, chatting away telling us all about the city. When we reached our hotel, the concierge who was of Chinese origin and about 5' tall, came out of the hotel and approached the taxi. Our Russian driver got out, looked at him, and shouted "These are my friends, you look after them !" We had a great stay, with an extremely helpful concierge who couldn't do enough for us !
Manchester. My daughter is meeting me at the airport so no taxi for me although the limo sounds tempting
