Here we go for the new boys to the league back by no less than the class of 94. Should have a few bob to spare then.

Not sure what to make of this one. Everyone I think expects Salford to do very well this season because of their backers probably more than anything. I'm not yet convinced though that they will do so well they will be feared by a number of clubs they play this season and Argyle are one of them. Decent enough start by us this season especially compared with the last couple. We have already shown we can compete with the rest so I don't fear this fixture. We most certainly can win it and I think Lowe will want to keep securing home points at the very least to sustain the crowd numbers. We can do it and I think we will.

I was there for the Leyton game and really enjoyed it.
We were sat at the Lyndhurst in line with the 18yrd line.
6 pound for me over 65 and 10 for Daughter.
And yes i was the Bloke that traveled 5000 miles to see Argyle play.
Like the Man behind me said "you traveled all that way to see this crap"
Picture might be in the Program

A draw at the end but there are many who would feel that this was one we perhaps should have won. First half and they took the lead and we pulled it back to 1 - 1 by the whistle. However despite us having the ball more than them they actually had the more chances to score than we did and our keeper kept us in it by making at least 3 very good saves and possibly 4. I said this on Saturday and the same applies, it is no good having possession if you don't use it.

Second half and it became clear that Salford would settle for a point away from home. However, against the run of play they actually scored and went back into the lead. I think it would have been an injustice if we had nothing from this and got the penalty towards the death. I couldn't watch but rose with the rest on hearing the cheer. Justice was indeed served.

This was the first match I've seen in the league and was impressed with the passing. However, keep ball is not necessarily going to win us games. It took an age to get forward after going sideways and back a load of times. It seems we aren't going to lump it up there. No problem with that but we need to do what we do a bit quicker at ties. Otherwise it becomes very predictable very quickly. There were some decent performances but for the keeper to once again be man of the match for me then you do have to wonder a bit. Taylor does not fit into this format at all. Not blaming him but tippy tappy passing is not his game. We need a proper centre forward who can link on the ground and bring others into play. It needs to be quicker, 27 shots does not tell the story. The majority were blocked because it was slow. Work still in progress but there is at least a player missing.

Who would have thought that after four games....Crewe would be top of the league.....having been bottom after losing 3-0 the first Saturday of the season.

I agree with you about Taylor. Although I have a lot of time for him, I don't think he really fits Lowe's style of play. Against Colchester, after Grant went off, the combination of Moore and Telford really did a good job of winning the ball against much bigger defenders and as long as we are able to keep the ball down, we really don't need a big central battler.

I get the impression Lowe is very loyal to players he takes to personally - witness his remarks about Joel Grant. While that's no bad thing perhaps in building team spirit, let's hope it doesn't get taken too far.
