    Evening All,

TSP are back for a brand new season – and we've got a new panel member as well!

Alongside the TSP 'veterans' (myself, Adam Leitch and Steve Grant), we're delighted to welcome aboard Lucy Highnett, who joins the TSP Express ahead of another year of rollercoaster emotions watching Southampton FC.

The first episode of the new campaign (TSP79) sees the group discuss a variety of things, including summer updates, pre-season progress, Saints Macau/China trip, the arrivals of Che Adams and Moussa Djenepo, the ‘return’ of Sofiane Boufal, Charlie Austin and Mario Lemina’s antics, the new Saints management structure, LD Sports and the TSP hopes/expectations for 2019/20 on the pitch.

If you'd like to listen then you can via any of these links:

Thanks, and look forward to another season of (hopefully) entertaining those who enjoy listening,

    Ben

    Crash! Bang! Wallop!

Yes, Saints returned to Premier League action with a bump this weekend – losing 3-0 at Burnley.

Episode 80 sees us pick through the bones of a disappointing opening day performance/result - including defensive errors (sigh….!), a deflated Ralph and some typically northern weather.

Alongside all that, we cover VAR, Deadline Day and preview next weekend’s Liverpool game.

As if that's not enough, sat neatly in the middle, Kristell Gnahm (FC Augsburg fan; Podcast Host of Frauen reden über Fußball) talks to us about what we can expect from Kevin Danso.

There were more encouraging signs for Saints this past weekend versus Liverpool, but ultimately it again ended pointless.

Episode 81 sees us cover all the key talking points from the St. Mary's fixture, discuss Maya Yoshida’s fabulous gesture towards the Saints Foundation this week, reflect on the first Fans Forum of the season, and catch up with TSP ‘Matt Le Tissier’ Patreon patron, Jamie Pragnell.

Great as always Ben. Couple of thoughts from me - having attended the fans forum just like to state that apart from Ted at the end (who I think we all enjoyed) people did just state their name and crack on with the question. So I think on this occasion Steve’s comments were unusually misplaced. In terms of “wasted” questions this is so difficult. I asked for good questions from Not 606 to put to the panel - these guys are very literate and highly knowledgeable all things Saints but I didn’t get any suggestions that I thought worth asking. Basically because we know that the guys on the other side are media trained - they are not going to: blame players;give away tactics etc etc. I thought there were some decent questions and we did get some info that was not available elsewhere - Ralph telling us they are looking for the right Number 2.

I’ve been for the last 2 years now and for £2 a ticket, free food being added to free bar this year - it’s a yes from me!

The other memory for me the podcast brought back was your comment about standing at the very back of the upper Milton using the spikes to hold yourself up. I used to do exactly that every single game - used a scarf to go round the spikes and around my waist whilst stood on the ledge. Amazing birds eye view. Can you imagine that being allowed these days from a H&S point of view?!

    Keep up the good work...

Thanks for the note, Le Saint.

Yeah, The Dell (as others on here will agree) was a unique place. I certainly miss it, but am also grateful that I at least got to experience it for 15 years or so. Those memories will last a life time!

Re the Fans Forum, I get where Steve is coming from (as many will), but likewise appreciate some people want to ask their question/tell their story - whatever it may be - and nothing is going to stop that.

I think it’s good the Club run them (particularly as it’s always a decent panel they put up), but think we all realise nothing overly sensitive is going to be disclosed.

Ultimately results on the pitch will always be what matters most.

    Off and running!

Yes, thankfully we gained our first points of the new Premier League season, with a hard-fought 2-0 win against Brighton.

With Adam heading off for a few days to recover from that, Ben, Steve, Lucy Highnett and Glen De La Cour (League One Minus 10) join forces to look back at all the key Amex action in Episode 82.

There's also chat on Fraser Forster’s loan to Celtic, a new addition to Ralph's first team coaching staff, and a preview of the upcoming Fulham and Manchester United games.

This weekend saw Saints battle for a hard-earned point, against Manchester United, at St. Mary’s.

To reflect on the tremendous performances of Oriol Romeu and Jannik Vestergaard, some resolute team defending and also a typically incompetent showing from Mike Dean, are TSP quartet Ben, Adam, Steve and Lucy.

Alongside that, Episode 83 covers a TSP FPL update, #AskTSP – which puts our panel to the test with your questions – reaction to the Cup draw against P*rtsmouth and a preview of the next Premier League fixture versus Sheffield United.

Thanks as always Ben, and of course Adam, Steve, and Lucy, for all the insightful chat.

Can I say, on the question of which former player (other than MLT) you would bring in, I’m so pleased you came in at the end with Rickie, as I’d been shouting that name at my iPad all the time the others were talking!

We dust ourselves off after the international break to chat about an excellent 1-0 win at Sheffield United, Leon Crouch's passing and also Bournemouth's imminent arrival to St. Mary's!

Alongside reviewing/previewing the latest Saints fixtures and news, there’s also discussion around one of our listeners question's on ‘the Black Box’! Fact or fiction....

Quite a few people over the years have had a pop at launching a Saints podcast, but this one is hands down the best.

Really like the format, the length and of course the panel and nature of the debate. It's the only podcast that I make a point of listening to, every week.

    Top work chaps!

    Thanks DTLW! Much appreciated.

We’re always open to feedback on anything we should be discussing (but aren’t) or generally making them a better listening experience.

But glad to hear you enjoy them.

It’s a ‘South Coast sandwich’ for us this week, as we reflect on the disappointing loss to AFC Bournemouth, before previewing the 3rd Round Carabao Cup game against Portsmouth.

Chat questions some of Ralph Hasenhüttl’s decision-making during the Cherries fixture, discusses the impact Ryan Bertrand’s belated return had during that game, and also gets the views of a Pompey fan ahead of Tuesday's Fratton Park Derby.

Saints remain the pride of Hampshire - after a superb 4-0 thrashing of Pompey, down at Fratton Park - and Episode 86 sees us reflect on all our favourite moments from the only South Coast Derby that matters!

Alongside that, Adam adds his views from/on the game - ahead of jetting off on holiday (and missing this week's Pod).

But its not all fun fun fun, as TSP86 also covers a frustrating defeat at Tottenham Hotspur, before previewing next weekend’s Premier League fixture against Chelsea.

Its another packed episode of TSP this week, as we reflect on Saints 4-1 loss versus Chelsea, before previewing the post-International break fixture against Wolves.

If that’s not enough, we have our first Total Recall of this season (alongside Will from Saints Archive) – which features former goalkeeper Antti Niemi – before giving away a #CompletelyDeluded t-shirt, to one of our TSP Patrons!

With Steve away celebrating his birthday (and watching the NFL!), Ben, Adam and Lucy are the ‘on duty’ TSP87 panelists.
