Got a couple of mates who reckon they know people in the know. According to them the problem with Poch is the forcing of his hand to play Kane in the CL final. Anyone of you Spurs fans know if this is true? Also understand that for us at UTD the Pogba situation was to do with the whole end of season abuse he got from some fans when he went over to applaud them. Often these kind of reasons are not given any thought but it would make sense. Not suggesting it's true, just heard and makes sense. Anyone know if any truth in this?
Don’t know if he was forced but many of us knew that he would pick him even though Kane was unfit and we also knew that it would be the wrong call.
Forced by who? Levy? Can't see it. Kane took Moura's place and Pochettino is loathe to play him in any game at the moment.
Seems too small a thing to make Poch have the major hump for several months. I seriously doubt that is the sole reason. Just take a look at some of Poch's press conferences as far back as earlier this year. The team dynamic was bad back then and all the talk was about getting into the new stadium, as though Wembley was somehow the problem (which it wasn't). More recently, he was touchy about transfers and implying his job title should be changed as he's not in charge of transfers. Read between the lines and all of this appears to me to be about player acquisitions and sales. Three windows with nothing happening will rile any manager. Whether or not you've had success, you still need new faces and fresh ideas to keep the squad on their toes and moving forward. This group has gone flat and stale. To continually ask the same core group to "go again" year after year after not achieving anything has its limits. And now we've reached the point where those core players have lost faith, don't have the desire to fight and want away. Poch basically has no tricks left up his sleeve that will change that, so here we are... I fear if he's pushed or jumps, Levy will go for the easy (cheap) option and be on the phone to Mourinho as quick as a flash.
Not wanting Poch gone quite yet but I’ve got no issues with Mourinho At worst it should be easy transitioning from boring football to boring football at best that man is a serial winner. A **** like him is exactly what this bunch of snowflakes needs.
I'm not sure he will still have the effect on players that he used to, footy has moved on and he can't bully players like he used to as they know he'll be gone soon anyway.
Well **** me sideways if I want Eddie Howe or any beige **** like that. Plus I think our success starved nearly men might embrace Mourinho’s winning mentality...might go tits up in 3 years time but I’m not bothered about that. I don’t buy into this we need a manager for 25 years anymore. I want trophies for my club...anyone serious about getting them are welcome...building ****ing legacies...you got to make it count when you’re at your peak..football waits for no one.
Wouldn’t want to lose Poch over the LC Maybe this is the real hard kick we needed in the bollocks Southampton on Saturday...the football Gods are chuckling to themselves. I hope the club that bought his ticket in aren’t ready with his ticket out
Because as we all know, there's a long history of teams managed by Steptonho that are in a better shape after he inevitably flames out partway through his third season...
I don’t think he would leave us any worse internally than we already are tbh. Financially he couldn’t do us much harm because Levy will know all about Mourinho, if Levy ever took the chance then it’s because he is backing Jose and has done his sums. If there one thing Levy is good at, it’s his sums.
There's one thing that Steptonho is terrible at, and it's working with someone who actually has any interest in doing their sums ...or not pissing off a large chunk of the squad ...or not pissing off his coaching staff ...or not being bloody embarrassing to watch
So nine months ago we were challenging for trophies on all fronts (although the CL looked well beyond us), had our best squad and manager for 50 years, and were about to move into the best stadium in the world. Since then we got knocked out of three domestic cups, and have had a dire run of form in the League but have had generally good results in Europe. Something feels wrong but what is it? I've not got a clue but am happy for Poch and Levy to sort it out.
Seems highly unlikely. He just rushed him back like he has done several times and will probably do again. This also started well before the final. We've been playing **** and picking making strange choices since February, at least. His comments about players having different agendas suggest something else, too.
