Hearts away In a friendly circa 88/89 ish. Memory fading a bit but didn't Ricardo Gabbiadini come on as sub? And may be Marco on pitch at same time. Could be wrong on this mind

Blackpool 0-2 Sunderland pre season 1995.
Brett Angell scored twice and the away end was attacked by a swarm of ladybird. Was really bizarre, the sky went black when they swarmed in.

Oh okay the first league away game I went to, about 73 or 74 Bristol Rovers at Eastville. On a soccer special. Great going down they even served beer and stotties.
The fun commenced early doors and got worse and worse
    We lost 2-0.
In fact it wasn t my first away league game

Can't remember date but either late 80's or early 90's away to Plymouth. We went 2-0 up they came back to 2-2. We were on the open end. We went 4-2 up and the heavens opened. The stewards were going around with oilskins with hoods staring at us in amazement as we were bouncing singing "Just singing in the rain. I'm happy again"

Watching Enrico Sivori and John Charles among others on my first floodlit match, in a friendly game against Juventus, at the time these two clubs were amongst the elite of the Football World, Juventus still are.

To be truthful I remember very little of the actual game itself, it was more the occasion, as it was the official opening of our floodlights. But they were a phenomenal team, and Sivori, Charles and Bonniperti were the super stars of their day. I did later see Mel Charles play at Roker Park for Swansea at center half and he was, like his brother a very fine footballer, but not quite so famous.

That was the day Man City won the title at Newcastle and won 4-1 I think.
The media had us beaten before we went to Utd, it was how many would they score, Kenneth Wolstenholme did the Match of the Day commentary and couldn't believe we had the audacity to win.
