    Sunday 3rd November 4.30pm
    Premier League
    Goodison Park

It was mixed performance on Sunday on Merseyside and we're following it up just down the road.
Another Sunday, another Merseyside fixture, though we face a side in far less impressive form.
The Blue side of Liverpool have been as miserable as we have this year.
There's some pressure on both coaches to get a result here and playing late in the weekend will add to it.
Can Pochettino get things moving or will Silva turn the screw and get Everton up the table?

Everton's start to the season has been fairly poor and the feeling is probably exaggerated for the fans.
Their neighbours doing well adds to the tension and misery, which we can all understand.
A fairly busy transfer window hasn't helped them, especially as one of their star performers departed.
Idrissa Gueye joined PSG and he may have taken the heart out of their midfield.
His new club demolishing their Champions League group adds weight to that argument.

A lot of The Toffees' struggles have come on the road though, where they've only picked up one point.
Their home form hasn't been too bad, winning 3 and losing 2, one of which was to Man City.
They've also strung together a decent run in the Carabao Cup, including a midweek win.
Watford were the latest team to fall, losing their second match at Goodison this season.
Mason Holgate and Richarlison got the goals this time:

This was one of our standout performances in the last campaign, as we scored six and could've got more.
Walcott opened the scoring for the hosts and they thought they'd added to it when Calvert-Lewin netted soon after.
It was disallowed for a push and Son leveled things up almost immediately, before Alli gave us the lead.
Kane added a third before half-time and Eriksen put us 4-1 up just after the break with a great strike.
Sigurdsson pulled one back quickly, but Son and Kane added to their goals to seal the points:

The reverse fixture came on the last day of the domestic season and it was a strange one.
Dier's early goal suggested things might be easy, as we needed a point to seal Champions League football.
A very one-sided start lead to a fairly flat middle period, as both teams seemed to be in holiday mode.
Walcott grabbed an equaliser with about 20 minutes to go and unsettled things, then Tosun added a second.
Eriksen's free-kick in reply ensured a nervy finish, but the flurry of goals wasn't added to by either side:

No injury update yet, but Lloris is out long-term, while Lamela missed the trip to Anfield on the weekend.
Danny Rose misses out through suspension, having picked up his fifth yellow card against Liverpool.
Gbamin and Bernard are out for Everton, while Mina faces a late test.

Lineups for each side's last league game:

Spurs: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose; Sissoko, Winks, Alli; Eriksen, Kane, Son.
Subs: Austin, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Moura.
    League form: WLWLDL.

Everton: Pickford; Sidibe, Keane, Holgate, Digne; Davies, Gomes; Walcott, Iwobi, Bernard; Richarlison.
Subs: Lossl, Coleman, Schneiderlin, Delph, Sigurdsson, Calvert-Lewin, Kean.
    League form: LLLLWL.

Referee: Martin Atkinson. VAR: Anthony Taylor.

    TV: Sky Sports.

How would you like to line up for this one and what would you change from the Liverpool game?
Would you make wholesale changes, tinker slightly or leave things alone?
Which system and tactics would you use and what are you expecting Everton to go with?

I’d like to see that too but with Lamela not being selected for Argentina I reckon he’ll miss this weekend’s game. Hopefully Lucas gets a start but I’ve probably got more chance dating Maya Jama.

This is sadly an all too familiar pattern for Lamela. Play a key role in the opening dozen or so games of the season, pick up a seemingly innocuous injury and then vanish entirely until March. I hope he can break the cycle as he shows every year that without the plague of injuries he'd actually be a very useful player.

Jan Vertonghen (hamstring) will be assessed before Sunday’s game but Erik Lamela (hamstring) is undergoing treatment and is unavailable.

Hugo Lloris (elbow) remains out and Danny Rose (suspended) must serve a one-match ban.

"It is ridiculous. He's played 13 minutes for Spurs since his return & Argentina are playing fierce rivals Brazil & Uruguay in glamour friendlies....in Saudi Arabia & Israel."

    Pull him out, then.

Does it only have to be 1 game? Couldn't we frivolously appeal it and get the PL increase it to 3, or maybe 4, or....
just asking for a lot of friends!

If we lose to Everton will this mean M United and us are just plain rubbish this season?

How do you keep doing it,Eddie Howe?

FootballBSider report/suggest/speculate/whatever that Poch is looking to integrate Troy Parrott, Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp into the first team as the season goes on

While my opinion of the source is...well, pretty bloody obvious, it has to be said that it's already three months into the season and so far their appearances are as follows
Parrott: 66 minutes in the Season Killer Cup
Tanganga: 66 minutes in the Season Killer Cup
Skipp: 2 minutes of Premier League football as a late sub vs Villa and The Sheikh Mansour Team, 78 minutes in the Season Killer Cup

While it can be said an attempt is being made with Skipp as he's been in the matchday squad for six of our ten league games so far this season - although it has to be said for the Palace and Southampton games, games he could have got some minutes in, he wasn't in the squad as we had Dier and Wanyama on the bench for both matches - there is an issue in how neither Parrott nor Tanganga have been in the matchday squad in any league game and that's something that really needs to change

I guess we'll be integrating Parrott into the first team ahead of schedule

Be interesting to see how this affects the other attacking players today(if true)

Everything is focused on Kane and he has been dropping deep all season. A different front man means we will play a slightly different way no doubt.

It's like a forced tactical change for Poch which I'll go with considering how poor his chosen tactics have become

Son's the most likely option, so through balls aplenty please

    ...yes, that means Ndombele starts

Today sees the "who gets fat sam as manager" cup semi final...Watford await the losers after they comfortably qualified for the final.

Everton have spent most of the week appealing Danny Rose's suspension while Pochettino has spent all week wondering how we can avoid starting Lo Celso, Ndombele, Sessegnon and Davies.

There are rumours that Kane is injured but that is just an opportunity for us to get used to playing without him next season after he joins Real Madrid or City or Barcelona or Liverpool or United (only joking...he would never join united :bandit:)

We currently sit 11th...some negative fans see this as a sign of decline but I prefer to see it as a carefully laid out plan to lull Chelsea, Arsenal, Palace, city, Liverpool, United, Sheffield United, Leicester, Bournemouth, Brighton and west ham into a false sense of security <whistle>

When Siggy puts one in the top left hand corner do not worry...we will be 5 up at the time :bandit:
