thought I'd do an early one with all the positivity around.
FIrst Point!!! No, I repeat, no clapping during the minutes silence. Beat anyone near you that does it.

    This needs posting too
THE SUCCESS OF OUR HALF TERM @ HULL CITY HALF-PRICE TICKET OFFER FOR THE RECENT HOME GAME AGAINST DERBY COUNTY WAS CLEAR FOR ALL TO SEE – AND WE’D LOVE TO SEE YOU BACK IN BLACK AND AMBER AT THE KCOM STADIUM ON SATURDAY!
With that in mind, we’d like to invite all supporters that bought half-price tickets for the clash with the Rams to do the same for this weekend’s clash against West Bromwich Albion.

Grant McCann’s men will go in search of a fourth successive Sky Bet Championship win when they host the current league leaders – and time is running out to take advantage of our fantastic offer.

Match tickets in all areas of the ground are available for half the normal price. It means that an adult can watch the game for as little as £13.50, while junior ticket prices start at just £4.50.

Fans that purchased half-price tickets for the Derby fixture can do so again for the visit of the Baggies, with the 50% reduction available until 23.59 on Friday 8th November.

And all group bookings of ten or more tickets will be entered into a draw to win the chance to form a guard of honour/flag bearers as the two teams walk out onto the pitch prior to kick-off.

    Here’s how to buy:

Online: Click here and log-in to your ticketing account where your discount will automatically be applied.

Telephone: Call 01482 358418 to buy over the phone.

In Person: Visit Tiger Leisure at the KCOM Stadium to buy in person.

If you have already bought your tickets for the West Brom fixture, here’s how to claim back half of what you paid:

For Tickets Bought Online Or By Phone: Call 01482 358418 to claim your refund.

For Tickets Bought In Person By Cash: Visit Tiger Leisure at the KCOM Stadium to claim your refund.

For Tickets Bought In Person By Card: Visit Tiger Leisure at the KCOM Stadium or call 01482 358418 to claim your refund.

Please note that the extra discount Match Card holders usually benefit from will not be applied to the above prices, although tickets bought will apply towards your six-game discount.

Half-price tickets will not be available on the day of the game.

We are on fire. Same team. Barring injuries.

Can be nothing other than Hull City win.
    2-0
We're going back where we belong. Oh Yes.

When it was built the new Tesco was the biggest one in Europe.

Steve Smith started Steve's Discount, which is now known as Poundland.

July 14 was officially registered as national Black Country Day because it is the anniversary of the invention of the world's first steam engine. The Newcomen Engine was created in the Black Country in 1712.

Lawrence and Cassandra Southwick, from Kingswinford in the Black Country, were among the founding fathers of America. The couple were early immigrants to the American colonies, going there in 1627 (or according to other accounts in 1637-39) possibly on a second crossing of the Mayflower, with four of their six children. They at first settled in Salem but moved to New York after being persecuted for being Quakers.

Their descendants were said to include Winston Churchill and US president Richard Nixon. In addition, it's been said that other descendants include Solomon Southwick, who printed some of the first copies of the Declaration of Independence after it was adopted in 1776, and Alfred Southwick, who invented the electric chair as an alternative to hanging.

The team were formed as the West Bromwich Strollers in 1879 by workers from the George Salters works, as they had to walk a few miles up the road to Wednesbury to buy their first football. . They became West Bromwich Albion after one year, in 1880.

They're known as the throstles (a thrush) or baggies, but nobody really knows why.

Bromwich means broom village, and there is no north east or south Bromwich, but the town is split into two constituencies, West Bromwich East and West Bromwich West.

West Brom's ground, the Hawthorns, is the highest ground in England.

Happened at Fulham on Saturday, stadium announcement said the last post would be played followed by a minutes silence, the referee would signal the start and finish with a blast of his whistle . As soon as the last post finished the roaring and clapping started, they couldn’t wait another minute. The fallen seemed to be forgotten. Is it too much to ask ? After all these people only gave their lives.

Obviously it's a tough game this one they are at the top for a reason. Austin normally does that limp holding his knee every time he scores here, Their two wingers are a danger but so are ours. If our full backs can contain their wide men and stop the supply to Austin then we have a great chance. Lichaj i think will need some help because their winger is quick and tricky. Having said that they are strong all over the pitch however it's another massive difficult test but we should fear no one at the moment. Three points here would be fantastic but after our recent run i would be happy with a point.

Having said that Remembrance Day is either the nearest Sunday to the 11 November or 11 a.m on the 11 November not the nearest home football game to the 11th. Having a minutes silence on the 2 November is just bollocks. It's doing it because they feel they should not for any other reason

I'd prefer for football not to get involved at all and leave individuals to show their respect in a more dignified and honourable way.

I don't think people are wilfully disrespecting or forgetting the fallen. It's just a bit unintuitive, this thing of having the last post followed by a silence. People hear the whistle after the post and think that's the invitation to resume making a noise.

Is it not normal (outside football) for the last post to come after the minute (or two) of silence?

You've really pushed the boat out with this one Chazz, are you on commission? Tough game this one, could go either way, fancy the draw, which I would be happy with.

I guess there is likely to be 2 ex-City players playing on Saturday Livermore and Townsend, I hope both get at least a polite receptions.

He still was a City player who graduated through our ranks, still, in my book, it doesn't matter whether he was a first-teamer or not
