Pep calls out Mike Riley for a second time What a complete #joke All the things VAR has got wrong but the world and Pep have lost their mind over not getting a penalty because Silva (who got an extension before his racism ban just to play this game) punched the ball onto Trent's arm
A good, important win. Now just have to get to January without picking up injuries in the congested December fixtures.
Very good performance, yes we conceded chances but against city you expect it. Thought we held them at arms length and you could see they got frustrated and in sterling's case where close to losing the plot. Game plan worked out very well, pep had no tactical answer to how we play. Oh and it was never handball
Sterling should have been booked for disrespecting the referee but I've been moaning about players doing that for over a decade now
We won 3-1 & again we didn't play as well as we can . PS Thought Lovren was very calm today & therefore played well /
2 points dropped so far and just about a third of the season gone. Fantastic. We have DOUBLE the points of the fifth places team For me, I’d prefer to laugh off all of the other competitions and keep our key players for the league - am really concerned that the first team will be f#cked heading into January.
Lovren did very well, this is the sort of atmosphere that he usually loses his head in. Someone must have slipped him a beta blocker before the game, he never dived in, just marshalled the city players. Amazed he fidnt clear out sterling on a couple of occasions, just stayed on his feet, kept thing nice and simple and above all calm.
He could have had a card at any point in the second half, certainly when he left a bit on van dyke, he looked equally dangerous and petulant.
No complaints from me,I thought we were 2nd best all over the pitch Henderson was immense I’ve not seen any replays of the incidents that are being whinged about but I thought we got what we deserved with such a porous defence and Juliet in net Long way to go but it’s yours to lose now for sure
If we lost I'd have said City were favourites for title. Having won, 9pte ahead now, I'd say we're favourites by a nose. City will almost certainly win in the reverse (we're not the same team on the road), so we've got a 6 point Gap (assuming that loss) and it's only November. We've got more games to play and a smaller usable squad. We've got a big lead now, but it's not as big as it appears.
Beat Napoli to win the group, then we can play kids against Salzburg, Aston Villa and the FA cup game
Wonderful, wonderful day - but we need to talk about Trent. Get Joe in at RB and Trent in midfield now, I say.
Team management is what it’s all about and avoiding injuries. Heart in mouth moment when Mo went down clutching that ankle. Great result today though
1) why would you move a player from a position he's performing so well in? 2) Gomez is a poor RB 3) what's wrong with the CMs we're playing? ("here comes Jimmy") 4) the midfielder's have contributed twelve goals (ish) in last 5-6 games
We’ve played all the current top 7 in the league. City have only played us. Chelsea next and then December they have arsenal, United, Leicester, away to wolves. Tough couple months for city.
