A hiccup or two has turned into a confidence ebbing disaster (for player and fan alike). MW has his work cut out to turn this around.
What I don’t get is how being 3pts off the top has turned into being 8pts from the bottom three. We really need to shake these performances up. I’m shocked at how Lumley has turned from a good prospect to turning in dire performances and has almost become a liability. As for the defence overall, how have we not sorted this out in the time we have had?
It is all very worrying right now. We keep flirting with the bottom three and one day we will find ourselves in there if we aren’t careful.

Oooooft! New a-hole torn by Forest. I hope we are able to put some decent results together soon as Christmas is coming and the R's have a habit of doing poorly.

It seems not to matter who the manager is we just lurch from being top of the form guide for a few games to then an extended spell at the bottom of it, we don't do middle ground. Also it doesn't seem to matter how often we change our squad we seem to get players who lose confidence at the drop of a hat. We need leaders on and off the pitch but we haven't had a proper leader on it since Clint Hill left. I don't think it's panic stations yet but if the goals start drying up then we are truly ****ed because I do not see a clean sheet in our near future.

Such a unique event that if it happens this season I'm going to mark the occasion of a clean sheet with a tattoo with details of date, who we played, scoreline etc. At the moment it's looking unlikely.

I think we had 3 occasions to go top... now we look like a relegation outfit. 5 weeks ago we were flowing, now we look predictable and lacking in confidence. I have also noticed the away fans laughing at our defence and keeper. It seems everyone knows we’re are crap at the back.
Agree with Beth re Manager. He doesn’t make Manning play that badly... however he picks the team and the buck stops with him.Warburton needs to sort ASAP.

We were terrible yesterday at defending set pieces. After they scored their first direct from a corner, they came very close to a 2nd when we seemed in total panic, and looked really dodgy thereafter. Neither Kane or Manning (who had a mare yesterday) are good defenders especially in the air. Perhaps we need to go back to 4 proper defenders at the back, Angel (if fit), Leischner (because he wins a lot in the air) Barbet when he'fit, (he plays out well) and Wallace at LB when he's available after his red, which we should appeal too. Then we could us a proper wide man like BOS.

It's it a coincidence that Holloway, McLaren/Warburton going on 6-10 game losing streaks?
It's the players ,not the manager.
Hall, Leistner, Chair, Lumley, Ball are just not good enough. Even Manning who has been outstanding was a joke last night.
it's proven by each time we play a team above us ,we lose. We can compete with the bottom six, quite happily as that's where we belong.
Probably been asked elsewhere but why the hell didn't Hugill start? He may well have even prevented the first goal, at back post.

Been waiting for your post Beth as you're generally very measured in your opinions.

Therefore, your post is very concerning indeed.

You may recall that when MW joined, one of the negatives associated with him was that he was predictable and did not ring the changes. That does seem to resonate just at the moment.

Persisting with the 'play it out from the back' style just is not cutting it. Where is plan B or C?

As to why BOS can't get a start, that is a mystery to all of us.

Thank you RTID for kind words. I wrote afuller synopsis for my friend TerryB who was not there last night. Get well soon Terry
This is a little more detailed and a bit more thoughtful..

I was unfortunately saddled with my friend and ex-work mate Mark, the Forest supporter, who I had forgotten could never organise a piss up in a brewery. He allowed the minimum length of time to drive from Waybridge to Shepherds Bush, with no concept of traffic, then mistook Wood Lane for White City tube stations...even though they are labelled rather clearly in BIG LETTERS!!!! But at the match he was very well behaved, considering.

Forest were much better, much more compact and actually knew what they were doing. We have completely lost confidence. This is the exact opposite to what happened under JFH, when we were set up not to lose. It was OK at the start when we would hang on and get an odd goal...but into the season, we just couldn't score and so when we went one down, we gave up because we knew we couldn't score. Now we can score, but realise we can never ever keep a clean sheet! Same result in the end, confidence drops and we are in trouble.

The Wallace sending off was harsh, the forward would not have caught the ball, but Wallace's hands were all over him, to me it was a yellow. However the more I watch it, the more I worry about Lumley's positioning in that incident, why was he not coming for the ball, which he would have definately got. Was that why Wallace felt he had to take action. But the fourth goal is nearly unforgivable from a keeper's point of view. It was an easy shot, which he should have held. It had been raining, so maybe it slipped out, but he was so so slow to recover. He really does seem to have gone down hill. Everyone is putting it down to the really nasty kick in the face on New Years Day, which I was at and saw and know that he really really should not have played on afterwards.
To continue with the defence, BFG2 is having a torrid time too, and it is not just in his inability to play out from the back, it is his slowness and his inability to read the game. But who else is fit or not banned. ...No-one as Warburton has said he will not put in Masterson. I have a growing conviction that Warbs wants to play a back three of Hall, Barbet and Wallace but has had absolutely no chance to do that, and does not have much chance in the near future either.

My final worry is for Eze, his game is based on ability but also on defenders not quite knowing what he will try. Now that part of his game has a lot of "redundancy" in it, it will fail a number of times, the defender gets lucky, Eze cannot quite do what he wants...but the "redundancy" is part of the game plan, as the defender is caught in two or three or four minds. At the moment I do not think Eze thinks he can beat players, his confidence is shot.

Have to say I thought both Scowen and Hugill played well when they came on, that is a plus. We looked as though we could equalise and possibly should have when Scowens bullet headed wizzed passed the post with the keeper beaten...and don't say that scowen should have scored...he is 5 foot nothing about 6 stone. It was really good play to get on the end of it

What is the answer.. it has to be a short dose of pragmatism.
I am assuming Kelly, Barbet and Rangel are long-term injured (if they weren't all three would be straight in my team for Derby!!). Warburton is refusing to play Masterson (and actually I wouldn't on Saturday either)
Would I play Barnes instead of Lumley I do not know....but I would make sure we have Dieng back on Jan 4th

But my team for Saturday would be (w
    A Goalkeeper
    Kane BFG, Cameron, Hall, Manning
    Scowen, Amos
    Eze, BOS
    Hugill

Funny enough, even before last night I was more optimistic about Saturday than last night against Forest ( a team that has an outstanding defence and has lost only once away all season). ...but it is going to take a lot to re-set the mind set for Saturday.
I hope we are not on a nasty downwards spiral...but that is the QPR way.

And no... we cannot get rid of Warburton

    Thanks for sharing.
Strangely I felt that if Scowen had scored, we had a chance to go on to win as momentum would have swung to us despite the 10 men. Probably pie in the sky.

Agree re MW. He's here for the long haul.

Too soon for April fools I'm afraid. I don't recall seeing a more inept, witless and dispirited performance in the hoops since Boswingwa. And this after his decent showing against Fulham. The manager has to take a share of the blame of course as I'm assuming he instructed the players to totally abandon the midfield to Forest. But there is no point to him playing if he is not dropping back to link up the play or helping with a press. Shockingly poor and rightly subbed at half-time -- I would have done it sooner.

    I will slightly defend Amos..
    I think we played 5 -4-1 or possibly a better description was 5-3-1 (Eze)-1.

The three in the midfield were completely over-run. There was a lot of running about from all three, they were definitely trying but they were completely by-passed, they were too weak. It improved when the much more aggressive Scowen came on.
I am beginning to think we need to beef up the midfield a lot more. When Wallace is back ( in put in as LB), I would move Manning into midfield to partner Scowen. Then I think you will see more outlet from Amos then, as he has a deft touch and a quickness of thought I quite like

It is time to put fresh legs in. Give those that have been warming the bench a run, BOS, Pugh for example.
The sending off was very harsh - however if I was a Forest fan I would have been calling for it.
I think Joe Lumley may need a break from first team before his confidence gets fully shot,
I was thinking last night that, after watching a u-tube clip of QPR beating CFC 2-0 (with Michael Robinson scoring THAT Goal) that a Supermac and Wilkins in our current squad would help boost the confidence of our team.
I just hope that MW is given a chance rather than have a panicky board with itchy trigger finger
