Barnsley is the football league club that City has played the most in senior games against - tomorrow will be the 104th time we’ve played them in all competitions.

They are also the club City has played most in the second tier - 80 so far, 81 tomorrow.

    Shocking match thread
These first few lines off the beeb fill me with fear
but I willing to ignore it

Gerhard Struber takes charge of Barnsley in a home game for the first time as he aims to end an 18-match winless run dating back to August.

Aapo Halme will have a head injury assessed, but Kenny Dougall, Cameron McGeehan, Patrick Schmidt and Toby Sibbick could all come into the side.

Hull boss Grant McCann could name an unchanged team after the 4-0 midweek win against high-flying Preston.

Leonardo Da Silva Lopes was injured in midweek and will be assessed.

    Match facts
    • Barnsley have picked up just two league victories in their last 10 clashes with Hull City, with both wins arriving at Oakwell (W2 D2 L6).
    • Hull City will be searching for back-to-back away league wins at Barnsley for the first time since January 1989.
    • Barnsley's three league Yorkshire derbies this season have all ended in defeat, against Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds and Huddersfield.
    • Hull have won four of their last six league games (D1 L1), as many victories as in their previous 18 Championship matches (W4 D6 L8).
    • Each of the last 10 sides to have won nine or fewer points after 18 league games of a season in the second tier have been relegated (Barnsley currently on nine points from 18 games), with Plymouth in 1963-64 (9 points after 18 games) the last side to avoid the drop from such a position.
    • Hull's Jarrod Bowen has been involved in more Championship goals than any other player in the competition this season (16 - 12 goals and 4 assists), scoring or assisting on average every 101 minutes this campaign.

Lopes wasn’t injured, he was ill, but he’s fine now.

There’s 2,000 travelling today, sadly I won’t be one of them, as my missus inconsiderately decided to have her birthday today.

There's a part of me today which fears typical city (taking a big away following to Barnsley has echoes of 2013) so hopefully McCann can have us well-drilled and ready to avoid a repeat of the first half last Sunday. We'll have the confidence to take from Wednesday's result but need to be prepared for a battle and not give Barnsley any incentive. First goal is crucial.

At least you remembered her birthday. For some reason I used to think my wife’s birthday was the 19th when it is the 18th.

I have the same feeling, that game in 2013 was one of the biggest disappointments. We had a bumper crowd, a great atmosphere, and then they did a typical City and didn't turn up.

As you say if we can start well today and get a goal up I think we will go on to win, but if we are like the first half at Boro, then it could be deja vu.

The first bottle bank for glass recycling collection in the United Kingdom was introduced in Barnsley.

Ken Loach's 1969 film Kes was set and filmed in several villages in Barnsley.

The flushing toilet was created in Barnsley.

Sad fact. Barnsley was the site of a stampede that resulted in the deaths of 16 children in 1908, at a public hall now known as The Civic, when children were rushing to watch a film in the building.

It is home to Pollyanna – the oldest independent fashion boutique in the country.

Tommy Taylor, one of the Busby Babes was from Barnsley. He was sold to Man U for a record £29,999. Busby didn't want Taylor to have the pressure of being the first £30,000 player, so gave the extra pound to the tea lady.

All in all, one of the less dislikeable Yorkshire teams.

Grounded fanbase who loathe the preening self-deluded wannabes from Sheffield and Leeds

But I'm afraid the same rules still apply: bugger off down pit Barsley.

It wasn’t a lot of fun on a cold Tuesday night in November 1980/81 season as they beat us 5-0 not long after this was on TV as the gloating Barnsley fans chanted “Barnestoneworth United” at the City fans. Classic line from it -“Yorkshire Premier League 1932. Davitt scored.” The buggers beat us at BP on a Tuesday night in August as well.
