Slightly sideways from the op but it is plain to me that when there is serious **** and fighting at boardroom/owner level. This invariably for some illogical reason trickkes down and springs out on the pitch. It has happened at many clubs Leeds etc. How or why is too much for me.
You almost took the words from my mouth.. he came here to have some fun and make a few quid along the way - it just isn't working out that way. On the flip side though - SD appears to have being taking a gamble with us.. If Short was going to write off the debt why did he leave us with someone like that? is the question that should be asked. At the time there was talk of consortiums - surely they had more resources than someone who was going **** or bust on promotion in one season in league 1?
Spot on. If he completed the sale to FFP and they invest as thy could...Mr Donald would be welcomed back to Sunderland very warmly by the vast majority of fans.
I don't reckon it did you know Long believed given the prior relationship between Methven and Short that there was no way that Donald figured out how to game the parachute payment system on his own. Does he strike you as a guy who is good with numbers and regulations to the level needed to come up with this? He takes a high level approach to everything, I think Short identified the loopholes and Donald was willing to jump through them because they only created a 'paper debt' (or as we would call it, a 'debt' ) from Donald to an entity he owned and could theoretically handle in lots of different ways without much risk to himself. He's lost pt1 of the gamble, so he's doubling down and has staked again, this time that FPP will eventually pay enough to make this a profitable endeavour.
Let's hope for at least one bit of good news by close of play ... ... a new board member and a statement on the manager would be great.
Short said he'd sold the club to people who had the right intentions IIRC, it's all gone tits up now, clearly the leadership are fcuked, hence the deafening silence.
The managers not Gona get pumped just yet imo. Hope he can sort these results and performances out. I think Gooch is a key player for us and pp is hoping he can make the difference.
Let's be honest we know this isn't going to change. We aren't going to start winning because Gooch is back in the team. IMO the answer isn't to just 'carry on'.
I agree I don’t think he will but he will get us up the pitch quicker and with Watmore on the other side we have something to worry there defense. I’m just clutching lads what else can we do?
