They must be quaking in their boots. The only thing we can do is pray that SD does the honourable thing - take a hit and sell out to the Yanks!
They worried the Tranmere defence alright it's just unfortunate that since that game Parkinson has managed to drag morale down to rock bottom. Still two good players if we can pick ourselves up.
Yeah but all they will be doing is watching the ball sail over their heads towards Grigg for it to come straight back. Long ball hoofball tactics.
Yes, but only one game against a very poor side. Gooch tailed off last season after a decent start, and, overall, was very disappointing in my view. Watmore - well, will he ever get an extended run and get back to his best given his fitness problems? Doubtful. If we're expecting these two to drive a recovery we could be waiting a long time.
It was also unfortunate that Gooch got injured in that game, and we were forced to bring back McGeady.
The whole team tailed off as the season went on so when that happens personally I don't tend to be too hard on individuals who are struggling a bit. I'm not sure if him and Watmore are good enough to drag us back into form and even less likely under Mr Long Ball but imo they're the best attacking options we've got.
Just hope Grayson thinks he owes us something, which he doesn't and tells his lads to go easy on us...now that IS clutching at straws
Like what has already been mentioned hopefully the board meeting will produce a positive rather than a negative...by a negative I mean the continued silence. Even though for most of this season we have been sh*t we have the January window coming up so what's the plan? Keep buying small pussy type players who have no will (as in griggs) for the fight instead of brick sh*thouses who will net easily get turned over in this league? Fight fire with fire right? But the main thing from me at this board meeting is who is going to be manager in January. I said before with PP I'm not his greatest fan but if we are winning every game then great. At the end of the day it's a results orientated business so from that point of view he's been a disaster. So there to me lies the way to move forward. Leadership reflects attitude.....we go to Gillingham with five at the back...ffs...what about Corporal Jones "they don't like it up them" approach? Ross's overall results performance win ratio's wasn't too bad but...and it's the big butt he didn't get us promoted and he didn't win any of the two finals at Wembley. So Stewie eat humble pie and you admit that PP was the wrong choice and bring in some inspiration so we can have a go at getting in the top six this season. The January window just needs the right man in charge.....that's what I'm looking for from this board meeting.
I wonder if we will hear any outcome (I doubt it) but what I do hope we see is actions in at work. PP needs to go there is no way they can give him money to spend if they do SD may as well just give up now and give the keys to the yanks. If he does actually want to try and earn some money which he is entitled too then ditching PP should be the number 1 priority. Man up admit made a mistake and get rid then we can move on.
Surely SD has got to realise they've got it wrong. Get shot of Parkinson, appoint someone to lift the whole place. Boxing day crowd is usually a big one. Not with PP still here. The bloke is gonna have us nearer relegation.
If he is still there I'm unsure if I will go and put the bairn through the negative **** that will be served up. You just know Bolton will beat us with Murphy scoring...
Quite right mate. Nothing positive between now and Boxing Day could see the crowd finally explode. People have been incredibly patient imo, not apathetic, but there's a tsunami of frustration there.
I can see a big drop in the crowds and even now we are down to the hardcore supporters but at the match you can feel the tension. PP has been an absolute disaster and has only made things much worse.
I read earlier you need 1.1 points a game to stay up in this league, Parkinson's on 1 so yeah relegation form big time. It's not like there's any positives to take heart from like he's giving the kids a go or we're having a real go in attack. Just rubbish setup and tactics leading to a rubbish performance.
So, there's a few 'facts' coming out now that I could post but, for various reasons, will say are wild guesses. Methven left SAFC, not for family reasons, but to work for his pompous mates in the election. (Various photos are circulating some of which I'll ask if I can post.) He thought he could just go off doing that and swan back to Sunderland whenever he chose, the Americans wouldn't tolerate that so he went .... .... pushed as opposed to jumped as I gather. Sartori is much more highly thought of and will play a bigger part from now on. More to follow. As far as I can gather this is all the pre-lim to the board meeting for which sandbags have ear defenders have been ordered.
