We have to hope SD realises Parkinson was a mistake and acts now.

Rather than show him as weak, I would suggest that would show a strength in admitting it and acting quickly

Not saying you're wrong here mate, but why would Methven give up his board role at SAFC in order to do some election work for, presumably, a few days? You'd think if push came to shove and he had to choose one he'd choose the long term role? Just hope something happens after this meeting, we need a boost from somewhere

It's not just that mate, I'm hoping the board meeting clarifies things.

I said ages ago that him and Donald had fallen out and that the Americans couldn't see the point of Methven.

Looking back on the original purchase from Short, did Donald really need Methven at all?

"IF" some of the stuff being posted about the players is true I'd be more inclined to stick than twist.
Also worth bearing in mind that the minutes of the fans meeting suggested that some of the previous candidates withdrew so don't expect a long list of mouth watering alternatives.

Fair points, difficult to get anything going with the squad in disarray. If it's true and he's only just found out the cause it would at least partly explain our terrible form.

Also true that there'd be no point making the same mistake we did with Ross and sacking a manager with nobody decent to replace them although having said that it does feel to me like almost literally anyone could be doing a better job with that squad.

I know what you mean Nacho, but having felt like that about the last half-dozen managers that we've sacked(at least) the replacement has always failed to stop the rot.

Re Methven giving up his board role for a few days work elsewhere - tbh aside from his shares SAFC won't really be much of an earner for him. He'll make most of his money elsewhere with whatever other businesses interests he has. Maybe he is just getting back into the work that he knows and pays him best and is making sure that everyone knows about it.

Strength and purpose are hardly part of the armory of someone hiding away in a bunker.
I picture him in a dark room, sat in a corner rocking backwards and forwards chanting inanities.
If he sacks PP ( and his assistants ), that is at least 2m of the yankee money gone. He would then need to commit a similar amount to bring in ( hopefully ) a proper manager...something I dont believe he is remotely capable of while he has hill advising him.
If he tries to sweat it out in the hope PP has success ( yes I know ) the investment still looks dodgy as it is earmarked for infrastructure based on a 100 pt promoted team.
He wont be able to pay back the loan/investment and so the chancer has for all intents and purposes lost his nice little earner. The yanks will come in and put donald, his fancy woman et al on the street and take the keys off him

No doubt chancer charlie was working for bojo's black shirts. Now they have won it will be jobs for the boys. He'll have a nice little earner spruiking reduced welfare entitlements, diminished health care services and levy charges for working class school fees.

I suspect that Methven didn't leave for either reason stated as a primary factor. I got the same info the day it was announced fwiw.

He seems to have left because he can't or won't do his job anymore. His role was to be a bridge between fans and ownership, but that job has become harder because of appointing PP and the RAWA meeting debacle. Those two combined probably just made it clear that he wouldn't be enjoying Christmas or most of 2020.

Wouldn't expect any formal minutes to be released, it is a private company after all.
Given the people expected to attend I wouldn't expect anything to leak out. Loose lips sink ships etc.
It would also be relatively easy to trace the source of any leak.

If Arsenal are seriously considering appointing Michael Arteta to he manager (currently assistant to Pep at Chitty) why cannot Phillip's manage us?

IMHO I see no reason whatsoever why Philips could not take this job right now. He ticks so many boxes. He played at a high level, he has played for and worked along side some great coaches/managers. He has tasted success at Leicester. From our point of view, he would start to fill a stadium that is currently starting to empty at break neck speed. I would have him in a heartbeat instead of the waste of DNA who we currently have.

True I guess, 2 1/2 year contract for Parkinson I believe.

As i have already paid this years season ticket, me being absent from games has little effect money wise...nor on attendance as season tickets are counted anyway...

Parkinson has to go... as the kids say..end of!

As each day passes you realise Parkinson will be in charge for the next game, then he will have "funds" for January. Unbelievably worrying to think.

Going to games is absolutely painful. Like most, the day for myself for a home game is spot on until just after 3pm.

My 9 year old lad just does not enjoy it one bit. Last season he loved the whole match day, this season he wants to be away well before the end. For some reason we sit it out until the end, almost torturing ourselves.

The club has never been so bad, yes Parkinson needs to go, but more so SD.

It is an absolute disgrace where we are right now. How much longer will we have to put up with this ...
