    QPR v Swansea City

Competition - FA Cup Round 3
    Venue - Loftus Road
    Date - 5 January 2020
    Kick off - 14.00

Following their hard fought victory over struggling Charlton, next up for Steve Cooper’s Swansea squad is a third round FA Cup tie against QPR at Loftus Road.

Remarkably, Cooper is the 7th Manager in as many seasons to take charge of a third round FA Cup match - Laudrup, Monk, Curtis, Clement, Carvahal and Potter being the other 6.

Against Charlton, the Swans climbed back into the Championship play-off places as Yan Dhanda's goal saw off the Addicks.

Dhanda finished off a smart team move with a 20-yard effort to put Swansea in front after just 14 minutes.

Steve Cooper's men missed a number of chances to extend their lead as they dominated the first half.

Charlton improved after the break and made Swansea work hard to hold on for a victory which moves them up to sixth in the table.

The previous day, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Nahki Wells helped Queens Park Rangers end a four-match winless streak with an emphatic home victory over Cardiff City.

Wells put the home side in the driving seat when he raced on to a ball over the top to score, then turned provider with a cute flick that set Osayi-Samuel up for his first.

The winger's second was even better as Osayi-Samuel surged in from the left to beat Cardiff goalkeeper Neil Etheridge.

Wells grabbed his second as he followed up a scuffed shot to head home, before Ilias Chair set up Eberi Eze for QPR's fifth.

A misplaced Aden Flint back-pass allowed Wells to claim his hat-trick, with Will Vaulks' late goal scant consolation for Cardiff.

The result was QPR's best win since a 6-0 hammering of Crystal Palace in the final league game of the 1998-99 season.

The sides last met in the FA Cup in 2001-02, when the Swans ran out 4-0 winners in a first round tie at the Vetch in front of 4,784 people, thanks to goals from John Williams, Nick Cusack, Mamady Sidibe and Steve Watkin.

When the teams met at Loftus Road in the Championship earlier in the season, the Swans ran out 3-1 victors

Turning to Sunday, I think that Cooper will rotate the squad, whilst Warburton will pick a strong team to try and build on the win over the Blueturds. As such, I’m going for a 3-1 home win. <cheers>

Depending on line ups I can only see a QPR win 2-0

Swansea City’s Championship fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage next month has been put back 24 hours to Wednesday, February 26 (7.45pm).

The EFL confirmed the switch on police, safety and transport advice, with neighbours Chelsea playing Bayern Munich in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge on the original Tuesday night date.

We are struggling at the back on Sunday as Ben Wilmot has been blocked from playing by Watford.

Depends totally how seriously both sides take the FA Cup and what sort of side they put out. Didn't we give Villa an unexpected tonking away in the 3rd round last season?
