How are we unable to get a head on any free kick or corner? I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a team so vulnerable to set pieces.
Not good enough. Now Ben is out for three games. Tettey pulled up, I hope he is alright. I was thinking before today we might have a shot at nicking a point at Totts next week but, based on today's performance, I don't think so now.
Hard to defend Godfrey's challenge which was just plain stupid and shows his inexperience. When we were trying to manage the game against 10 men he's too far up the pitch and desperately tries to stop Wilson's pass. Totally unnecessary and typical of the way we overcommit forward. Great to have a win though and Cantwell was deservedly the MotM. Duda looks a very classy player and you'd never know it was his first match. Krul had another good game and made a vital save over the bar to prevent a goal. Buendia was tenacious on both sides of the ball. Winning ugly is what it's all about now.
Would be level on points with Watford had it not been for those VAR decisions against Spurs, Arsenal & Palace
Match stats 66% possession 16 shots 5 on target One goal via a penalty At least we didn’t loose to a team in the bottom 3 as in other games. I listened to the game on Radio Norfolk and got the impression that we missed some good chances as we have in other games. So what is the answer? Pukki has done more than his fair share of goal scoring so should we play two strikers in some games? Should we expect others to join the scoring list, along with Cantwell? The new lad Duda is probably expected to have a pop at goal but should we invest in another proven striker as Drmic seems to lack what it takes in PL albeit usually coming off the bench? We dream of survival but the reality is that without investment our chances are slim. Ok, Aston Villa have invested maga bucks and its doesn’t seem to have worked so far this season. But surely Webber et al are shrewd enough not to let any investment fail? £30m from the sale of Aarons could be spent wisely and like Southampton have demonstrated, climbing the PL table is not impossible. Stick or twist?
Thought Drmic did ok for his brief cameo We do need more goals from elsewhere though - Buendia tries so hard but just lacks that composure in front of goal. I can’t help feeling that he just needs to score one and then he will relax - if only it had been after that mazy run today where he beat several Bournemouth players
Pukki has a hamstring problem and his toe is still causing him pain plus he has to pick up his Sports personality of the year award in Finland midweek. Give Drmic a start and maybe give Idah a run out late on. Pukki has his 10 goals and has played so many minutes for club and country. Give the guy a day off for Spurs away .
I think Duda could make a real difference for the rest of the season with some goals and assists, which is something we've been missing all season. Cantwell was excellent today and it's good to have Drmic fit. I still think it's a big ask but the door is still slightly ajar.
Just back from game. That has to be the worst game I have seen at Carrow Rd for years. Two teams, with no flair,no ideas. Really poor, shows why they are bottom 2. Duda was the only plus. Godfrey showed his immaturity. Krull got booked for trying to start a fight Championship here we come
Weird - on tv it looked like we played some lovey stuff. Pirouettes from Cantwell and dinky one twos with Buendia. Created lots of decent chances (but lacked composure). The awful bit, admittedly, was our defending of any set piece. Otherwise I thought we played well and just needed a goalkeeper not on top form (for once!) I also thought that, as I think usually happens, one team going down to ten men ruins the spectacle. We looked a better team when we were playing eleven Bournemouth players (and then when we went down to ten). Oddly, if that handball hadn’t happened and Duda had got the goal, that might have made for more comfortable viewing as Bournemouth wouldn’t have been so defensive.
