Bollocks bad luck for the lad. The good news is it's not a reoccurrence of the same problem probably just something relatively minor as a result of going into full training cold so to speak.
Aye we could do with him back. Watmore picked up a couple of niggles when he was making his comeback too, he's just keeping the bench warm currently but at least he's available.
Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has suffered a setback in training which will delay his comeback. The youngster returned to full training on Monday at the Academy of Light after suffering a hamstring injury during the Lads’ 1-0 cup win at Sheffield United in September 2019. However, speaking to the media at today’s press conference, boss Phil Parkinson has revealed that the 20-year-old suffered another issue during training which has put his hopes of a return on hold. "Elliot has had a bit of a setback which is a real blow for us - it's the one downside of the week," he said. "He trained on Tuesday and just felt his hamstring. “The physio department don't thing it is where the operation was, but whether it is a bit of scar tissue or something we are not sure. He continued: "We have to make sure that we protect him and don't push him too quickly, too soon."
