If it's genuine then the talks have probably been conducted whilst they waited to see if we looked safe from relegation. That would explain why all are saying a concrete offer has yet to be made. We're getting closer to the safety point so we'll see.
I call bullshit - the article says they focus on sport and entertainment - why would they want to buy us?
Crazy to think the difference in this club if this actually happens. It’s like at the moment we’re settling for average and now most fans seem content with that. If this happened we’d be going on SSN on Monday mornings seeing us linked with players like Sancho etc most probably. The difference a bit of money and ambition can make for a club. Man City were basically us a few years ago. I see people say often would you want a takeover like that to happen if it takes the soul out of the club. My answer to that is I want to actually see Newcastle United be successful in my lifetime. I want to see us genuinely compete and be put on the map again. We literally compete with the likes of Burnley, who spent sod all year after year yet somehow still finish above us most seasons. I think when pundits mock us for “claiming we’re a big club” it’s because they always use the “haven’t won a trophy in 50 odd years” I mean come on we had two FA cup finals and with just our luck in the final we came up against the two best teams in the country at the time. It’s like them saying Boro are a bigger team than us cause they beat a bang average Bolton side to win the league cup. Bullsh’t. The fact not so long back we were attracting players like Ginola, Asprilla, beating Barca in the CL. It definitely shows we should not be constantly competing with the likes of Burnley and Bournemouth.
Be fun like , just want ashley out . Feel sorry ,for the young supporters ,who just get the piss taken out of them by this dick. Some have never seen the club in a semi etc.
I know “everyone” tries to downgrade the Inter Cities Fairs Cup win as not now a “real” European trophy but never forget the Texaco Cup or the Anglo-Italian Cup wins in the 1970’s. Ask yourself did Burnley or Bournemouth ever win those? No siree, no they didn’t.
The Guardian are reporting 'people close to the negotiations' as saying it's been put at risk by the leak but still rated as '90% certain' to go through now.
