It's gone through the fakeover cycle much quicker this time than all the rest. Next will be 'trouble getting it over the line'

Do other successful takeovers result in immediate managerial change? I don't really pay much attention to other clubs but thought most new owners take a few weeks/months to get their feet under the table before initiating change. Also, if they complete the purchase imminently as is being suggested then they would have a good bit of breathing space to bring in someone with pedigree before next season.

That would no doubt be for the best.

Man City kept Hughes for a short while, before Mancini appeared. Can you imagine? Only 4 months of Bruce then we welcome Poch to SJP.

Personally, if it doesn't happen this time, most likely never will. So lots to think on.

In a weird sort of way it might actually happen because of Steve Bruce and him getting the points we needed.

Indeed. Florian Lejeune/Isaac Hayden Hall of Famers, the goals that got Mike out. Seems pretty likely that we'll get the 3 wins we need to survive; and if, as rumour suggests, the club is taken over on Tuesday then the SJP atmos for Norwich will be off the ****ing scale.

I agree with @Roland Deschain if this one doesn't happen, I doubt we will ever be sold.

Why? When else are you expecting to do so in the foreseeable future?

The below is a tweet from the corporate finance and deals editor for the Financial Times. It gets more and more interesting...

Also from the FT story are details explaining that Saudi are looking to follow the Man City and PSG ownership playbook and that the purchase of NUFC has already been 'blessed' by the state. Apparently they are planning to introduce KSA style branding to the shirts/kits and have readied a pre-emptive letter to the fans to counteract expected negative reaction to the human rights record of the regime.

Oh **** it! Let's get carried away!

We were told a few days ago (last week) about a super surprise signing (not Bentalab), now this! Can only mean Mbappe is signing.

Slugworth can't say jack about "proof of funds" this time, it's MBS and the Reubens. So what's his excuse going to be? If there is an excuse, or if this fizzles out given the likelihood of it's realism (not only is it from the Wall Street Journal, but the Financial Times/Press Association have also put their names to it), then we will know beyond any shadow of doubt that Ashley isn't ever going to sell.

That said, I reckon it'll be done by tomorrow/Tuesday, which will fall in line with his patter about "when you hear about it, it'll be done". For anyone who isn't aware, the editor of the FT has said that Mike told his accountants that "Newcastle will be off the books".
