Pelle is currently posting pictures of his holiday in the Maldives on his Instagram, so it would certainly be a rush on deadline day if it goes ahead.
With the rumours going around about Cedric Soares possibly being sold, I would have hoped that Ralph would be able to persuade him to stay and sign at least an extension to is contract for a year or so. I know he blows hot and cold at times but recently he has performed really well and he has looked like he is enjoying himself, and very much part of the team. It would make a lot of sense to keep him and have the option of Kyle Walker-Peters as another right back option.
Glandular fever can be over in a few weeks but most people get fatigue symptoms that can last for months. I totally understand the club and the player not wanting it disclosed. It has potential to have an impact on his career over the next year or so and it makes no sense to make public knowledge anything that could impact either the value of the player or his ability to command salary elsewhere should the club wish to sell at any time.
I'd seen glandular fever mentioned by a poster elsewhere who was 'ITK'. It was also referenced in an article on The Athletic. Nothing official obviously but the story does fit.
If we're not letting vestergaard leave for 15m which is a position we have a fair bit of cover, I don't understand why we would let Cedric leave for 6m where he is first choice and ralph had already stated the need to bring in an extra player there.
Cedric to Arsenal now gathering momentum - just saw an Arsenal fan on twitter saying how it will be good to finally have a right back that can actually cross...ahh ignorance. Edit: There seems to be a general consensus among Arsenal fans that Cedric has a reputation for having a great delivery on him - where has that come from?!?!
For Arsenal fans a good delivery is someone who can get the ball within 100 yards of an attacker. Shame Cédric can’t get quite within that range
I think statistically he has one assist every ten games roughly speaking so not sure where the Gooners get that from
It is not just lack of assists, because lets be fair you could make 10 perfect crosses and shane long will still miss 11 of them. Most annoying this for me is when we have a brilliant move building up and then he over hits the cross for a throw/goal kick. At least make the defenders work!
Not sure why we are trying to run Cedric down. Since being very open with us in leaving at the end of his contract, his performances have been very good. Not just consistent, but a great energy to them as well. He has some short comings, but we are going to miss him. I just hope this isn't some quick cash grab by the club. If its a couple mill, just let him see out his deal so we get a settled end to the season.
