https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51375903 Do you ride a scooter? If the answer is yes and you are over 10 years old the chances are you are some beard waxing, non-sock wearing, waistcoated millennial from Hoxton who can be seen around the streets of London whizzing up and down bus lanes, cycle lanes, pavements, in parks and down the middle of Oxford Street on one of the ever increasing numbers of electric scooters. They are not legal to ride on roads or pavements with a fine of £300 for anyone caught but since these things started to become more popular a year or two ago I've never seen Plod stop anyone. As far as this citizen is concerned they should be classed as motor vehicles and restricted to roads with users having to wear appropriate safety gear, audible warning systems and to be insured. Twats riding them on pavements should be knee-capped, harsh perhaps but on balance quite fair imho. please log in to view this image
With the car getting criminalised and our cities becoming no car zones then I think your scooters will be a very popular mode of transport in the future. You can hire Electric scooters via the Wind App in Lanzarote and you just dump it when you're done and some other guy will use it. Think you also use the Wind App in Malaga. @mongose to confirm.
Not sure if it is called Wind App here but yes there is a similar one here. Just dump it anywhere. In saying that, they are changing the laws here and soon you won't be able to dump them anywhere and will only be able to ride them in certain places.
I had an electric scooter in China - as with mobile phones and impending electric cars the technology is flawed due to battery life and waits for recharging time. Its the biggest impediment to a roll-out that has begun already and will gather momentum including driverless transport units.
